The platimum edition is actually really good value, 5 new songs and a complete DVD.

To be honest this is the first CoF album I've ever bought. I've always liked a few of their songs and because this one was a best of with rarities (2 discs) for just $10 I thought why not. I haven't listened to it yet though. A few of CoF's albums are on sale at JB Hi-Fi at the moment for $9.95 although by the looks of things you've got all their proper albums.

Cruelty & The Beast (possibly strongest material)
Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder (newest material)
Vempire (my original favourite) (older material)

I'd rate these 3 as "must have" CoF, other fans would suggest different albums.
I'm sure LH&WC has a wide enough range of material for you to decide which you prefer- none of their albums really sound the same.
