Lees and West are also in one hell of a comfort zone these days regarding the BDO. It sells out regardless so they aren't overly bothered who is on the line up.
It's also pretty funny when the Prodigy are playing their fourth BDO and they have released four studio albums that's a pretty good strike rate

How about: Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Jesus Lizard, Pop Will Eat Itself, The Hard Ons, Celibate Rifles, DEVO.
The list goes on, at least something that is a bit scary or dangerous.

They won't do that as they don't want to upset Generation Y(bother). If they haven't heard it on Triple J they might get scared and cry all over their brand new Che Guevara T-Shirt.

EDIT: Apologies, but does that sound a tad bitter and grumpy.

Yes it does. ;)

How good would the Hard Ons be on a side stage???? They've had plenty of the older acts on board in the past...maybe possible. The Hard Ones do tour a bit these days.
Are PWEI still going?

The Hard Ons have been f*cking awesome on a side stage. Would be good to get them again though.

I love seeing home grown talented Aussie bands. But if you're going to do that, drop the price accordingly.

Good point. I think you will find though that something like Homebake costs just as much.

I can't believe BDO cost me $60 once. Wonder how much it'll be this year?

$132 looks to be the going rate this year. No doubt the price of everything there will have gone up though.

**** the BDO I just found the line up All Tomorrow's Parties.......

The All Tomorrow's Parties is coming to Australia in January with performances by the reformed Kuepper-Bailey Saints and the Laughing Clowns among the highlights. Nick Cave is curator and will play the three-part festival with his Bad Seeds. Full line-ups are to be announced but the acts already unveiled include Spiritualized, Robert Forster and Rowland S Howland. Sydney Harbour's Cockatoo Island, Brisbane and Mt Buller, Victoria, will be the venues.

The Saints, The Laughing Clowns, The Bad Seeds, Robert Forster and Rowland S Howard. Now THAT is a line up. Take note Lees and West!

The Triple J crowd is the audience the BDO is designed for. Afraid of listening to something new?

When I saw the line-up for this year's Splendour in the Grass, I thought the following BDO might be struggling to get some big name acts. I was right, I reckon.

I think Splendour's growth could be to the detriment of the summer festival.
