My brother is making his first ever trip to Sydney with a mate and going to the Soundwave there. Plenty of bands on the bill that are right up his alley.

I can't see many for me with only Strung Out clashing with Slipknot a touch and SOAD playing the same time as Machine Head.

Yeah ZC- the Strung Out/Hatebreed/Lamb of God 3 way clash has me reeling. Strung out win in sudden death playoff.

The Machine Head SOAD clash annoys me no end too. Check the Brissy timetable, you'll see what I mean. I'll watch the first half of SOAD and finish with MH.

Bad Religion/Biohazard clash too, BR were always gonna win that battle.

I'll be absolutely knackered by the end of this, dont think I am watching 2 bands in a row at the same duo of stages!

I did see the Brisbane one had MH on at 6ish which would have been ideal but it also had Unwritten Law on at the same time as Steel Panther which I was not keen on. Adelaide has managed to avoid that clash so it frees up the awesome riffs and hilarious lyrics that are Steel Panther!!

My day:

Zebrahead (11.40-12)- Im cheering they're doing soundwave.
CKY (12.30-1)- As above.
No Idea what to see inbetween CKY and BR.
Bad Religion (4-4.55)- You beauty.
Limp Bizkit (4.55-5.55)/Maybe the end of Trivium
Lamb of God (6.10-7.10) I don't really listen to much of their music to be honest but I thought they were great opening for Metallica and I'm keen to see them again.
Slipknot (7.00-8.30)
SOAD (8.30-10.00) F**k yeah!! Hope they play Aerials, easily my favourite SOAD song amongst my other favourites Hypnotise, B.Y.O.B, War?, Sugar and Shimmy. Hope they play them aswell!!

Not happy about this either, they could have done the same thing as Brisbane, anyway will watch the 1st 30 mins of SOAD and then go and watch an awesome show from Machine Head.
Have worked out my day already goes something like this Black tide, The Menzingers, Shadows Fall, Motionless in White, Mastodon, Dillenger Escape Plan, Slipknot and then Machine Head to finish me off for the day

Have seen Hatebreed at BDO and the mosh pit is crazy, I think its called the wall or something like that

Well BR and Trivium clash and there's nothing else I'd want to see at that time.

I believe you are referring to the Wall of Death? Pretty common at gigs these days youtube wall of death for a few of them. Been involved in 1 and to be honest I've had harder hits in a circle mosh.

Pretty sure there is one of these from a Sick of it All show where a guy does a handstand in the middle of the open area as the walls close in!

Very humourous. I'm sure he copped a hiding.

Interestingly it was Sick Of It All supporting Rise Against that I was involved in. Pretty small by comparison to some of the festival ones on youtube though!

Seeing the missus stuck in the middle of a circle pit when the Gallows played a couple of years ago, and climbing into the mixing desk booth to escape it will always be a fond memory.

Alright for anyone that cares a few little reviews of the Sydney Soundwave my brother went to on Sunday. Said overall the sound was shit but he thought Steel Panther were really good, Meshuggah were the standouts for him and their sound was the best he heard, Limp Bizkit surprisingly enough got the biggest reception of the day/night, some 20yo guy was shocked my brother wasn't eagerly anticipating seeing LB (where do these people come from), Coal Chamber too supposedly got a good reception, Slipknot were average and SOAD were crap. Said he was disappointed to miss Lamb of God & Devin Townsend but he's seem them before anyway.

It was his first trip to Sydney and he said it was a $60 taxi ride from the place they were staying at to the venue and afterwards 4-5 taxi drivers refused to take them back home even with a $10 tip but one offered to do it for $100! They caught the train back.

Just got back from the Hellyeah/Black Label Society Sidewave in Melbourne last night....

Amazing... Ended up front and centre on the barrier for the first time in 15 years. Zakk owned and Hellyeah were also very good. Cant wait to see them again at Soundwave.
