My favourite cover would probably be 'We Gotta Get Out Of This Place' on the Jello Biafra and DOA collaboration.

Love is all around

Wet Wet Wet
A smash hit for Wet Wet Wet in 1994 and featured in the movie 4 weddings and a funeral
Was number 1 in the UK for 15 weeks in 1994
A brilliant cover

Rem
In 1992 REM had this song as a b side song !
oops

The Troggs
The original song in 1967
got to 5 in thr UK and 7 in the US
These British rockers are my preference to the best version

For those who have never heard of the Troggs, they are brilliant and I treasure my Troggs LPs and singles
The Troggs were the originators of Wild Thing [Now used as Shaun Taits song in 20/20 cricket]
They also had a song which was in a commercial on TV called With A girl like You

Love is all around
I recall seeing it listed as a greatest song of all time[or top 10 best]
This was in the sunday mail a few years ago in an article

I remember going to see The Troggs sometime in the 80s at Le Rox. They were doing some sort of reunion tour.

When they played Wild Thing for the 3rd time...I left.

Something - a bigger hit for Shirley Bassey than it was for the Beatles.

Sorrow by David Bowie - a hit for The Merseys in the 60's. Great song.
Blighty Teasdale - SuperCoach former World No. 1
