Yep I know who I would rather see - Nine Inch Nails, Goldfinger & Alice in Chains at Soundwave or the BDO 'headline act' of the century Neil Young? Tough Choice.

says it all- not sure why you dignified that with an answer....

Jeez, what a day. Yeah 4 of us wore our guernseys, was a talking point among a few festival goers haha. Haha yeah DW a mate bought a lightsabre and was trying to challenge the coppers to a baton/lightsabre fight haha good times.

Red Jumpsuit and Bloodhound Gang were my obvious highlights of the day but when Nine Inch Nails finished their 2hr set with Hurt it topped my day off. Crowd was going nuts. Moshpit for Red Jumpsuit was brutal, got a egg on my head, bruises on my shins and very sore wrist. Managed to get front row for Bloodhound Gang who started with Uhn Tiss and just kept playing all their old school hits. Dirty Sanchez and The Dudesons were unreal, standing so close while they're on a small stage was awesome. Goldfinger were ok also, cant really remember much else of the day though.

One sore point though was the price of booze, great day for drinking but @ $9.50 for a McKenna made for a light wallet at the end of the day. I wouldnt have complained as much if it was a decent drink like Johnnies or Beam.

I think you guys got it pretty good. People had to line up for 3 hours to get in at Sydney and then 2 hour queues for drinks and toilets. Sounds like the Adelaide show was a better set up?

Ha Ha- #3, was it you who came under the tent at stage 3 at about 2.20 with 3 beers and obviously struggling to stand?? (One of the Paralowie guernseys) We suggested a sleep but he said he 'didnt trust this crowd'!!

In order, I saw:

Less than Jake- just caught the last song, so cant comment. Talking to a few lads later, they reckon they were great.

Goldfinger- Seen em a few times, and they rarely disappoint. No exception, were totally entertaining and played some classics! Does anyone know the guy who ate the Twinkie out of the ass of the drummer? That was truly terrible...

Evergreen Terrace- Loved these guys, only know a handful of their songs, but they were heavy and loud, with some killer breakdowns. One of my top 3 for the day. You know a band has an effect when you check out more of their stuff after the show!

Poison the Well- Played with passion but just didnt do it for me. I dont know a lot of their songs but I couldnt get into them.

Bloodhound Gang- Great fun, great to see them live. They managed to play some classics including Ralph Wiggum, and also managed to get a few 'puppies' unleashed in the crowd which is never a bad thing...Jimmy Pop had obviously done his adelaide homework too, talking about picking up a hot weightlifter chick at the Mars Bar...

Alice In Chains- Oh my god! Since having tix for their show in 1993 and having them cancel, I never thought I would get a chance to see these guys. They totally blew me away- much better than I could have imagined. I had strong doubts, as no-one could possibly replace Layne on vocals, but the new guy surpassed all my expectations. 'Man in the box', Them Bones and Dam that River were just so awesome to hear live. Jerry is such a good guitarist, and was stoked to hear they are planning a return to Oz soon. One thing is for sure, I will be there. For any previous fans, give the new guy a go, you wont be disappointed! (sorry I cant remember his name! )

Face to Face- Having waited nearly as long to see these guys as Alice in Chains, I raced to stage 3 to catch one of my favourite all time bands. Having them starting at the same time as NIN meant the numbers were down, which suited me fine. Got to the barrier front row centre and proceeded to chat to a few other fellas who were equally keen. They didnt disappoint, launching into "Youve done nothing" I was in bliss, singing along with every song. Wore a couple of straw elbows from behind, but was all worth it. Simply one of the best 45 minutes I have ever had. I am totally biased but they were sensational, even though Less Than Jakes bassist had to fill in, he didnt miss a beat. To hear they may be back as a headline tour had me in fits, will believe it when I see it. But I will always have this show to remember!

Lamb of God- Totally hoarse, I went to finish the day with a little easy listening....LOG played a good set, although plagued early with tech difficulties. Some of the new songs sounded really good, gonna have to check out the album. They got extra ticks for playing Redneck immediately after me telling my bro in law about the song! Their set was too short, but at festivals thats alwys the case...

Non-music review-
Location- questionable....so dusty, and stages still too close together for my liking, at least they had some 'tent flaps' between stage 2 and 3. A larger area and or less stages would be better, also an extra hour on the bill couldnt hurt, to stop so many lashes (seriously, having Lamb of God, Funeral for a friend and NIN at the same time wasnt the greatest scheduling...)

Food/Drinks- I thought the food options were good and not too overpriced. Drinks were the standard 200% mark up, $5 for a bottle of water and $4 for a 390ml coke is joke worthy. Im glad I didnt get into the beers, and 9.50 mcKennas is just criminal...

Sensational day!

Yep thats him- was priceless, he tried to sit down with the 3 beers, got my brother in law to hold them while he sat down, then asked him if he'd like one!

Classic stuff...
