The best Adelaide band OF ALL TIME is Cold Chisel.

End of argument!!!!!

Nup that was Master's Apprentices

As much as my heart wants to say The Mark of Cain my head says that Mick is on the money here. They don't make songwriters like Mick Bower anymore.

Compare number of hit songs and albums and Chisel are street ahead.

If that's the case I'm in strife.
My favourite Adelaide band was ''Speedboat''
Favourite venue was ''Lark & Tinas''
Mind you, that was the glorious 80's.

I used hand around with a couple of guys who were kinda 'roadies' for Counterfiet in the 80's.
I like the band Almost Human from the early mid 80's era. Chris Tennant went on to play with the Superjesus.
Too fast to live, too young to die.

Not that I'm a fan of cover bands, but I loved going to see EVENFLOW at Cartoons (and other places) when I was younger. There were some good cover bands around at the time - a mate of mine was the singer in the Nirvana one (Then in Mower). There was a good Soundgarden one I saw at the Bridgeway - and a RATM one too.

I loved Cartoons - pity it burnt.

Went past Cartoons the other day, all boarded up, still nothing there.

The best Adelaide band? The Superjesus.

Adelaide bands are doing well at the minute, The Hot Lies getting a lot of exposure, and Blow Up Betty winning 3 awards at a national award ceremony recently.

In-zone opened up next to Stormy's, in 1999. It was a "new" live band venue- a couple of blokes who were mates opened it up, & it took off- mind you people like myself/Blood Sucking Freaks gave it a lot of support :partyman: :drinkers: . They used to have bands on fri & sat nights, a good mix of punk/metal/hard rock/local. It closed down in 2001. The place there now is one of those trendy bars. I went there one night, saddened to see the place had changed from what I remember.

Ahh yeah, I know where you mean. It's some bar/coffee place thing now? Open windows at the front. Walk past there on the way to Leader sometimes. I still loved Cartoons!

A "sporting comrade" of mine was one of the owners/managers at Cartoons. Every time I wandered in (which wasn't that often) I'd end up getting drinks on the house :) The bloke left the place before it burned. He just recently moved to Brazil.

Meh, it's hit or miss for me. Can get a good crowd there, but the lay out of the place isn't wonderful- seeing bands there is ok, but having music thrashed into your ears between sets is no longer my idea of a good night out.

Has anyone seen a local band called "Incarnadine", they play at the Squatters Arms & Gaslight Tavern as well as a few other venues. My cousin plays in the band and she has been trying to get me and the Mrs along to a gig. If anyone has seen them, what are they like?
