Hip Hop and Rap, is it crap?

Yes, music now has its very own forum!

Postby RustyCage » Thu Dec 08, 2005 10:59 pm

Yes, Hip Hop is crap. And its getting worse. I wouldn't call it music, because it doesn't really have a hell of a lot of music in it, other than what is sampled from other stuff. Lyrically, it is all mindless dribble. Spoken word rather than actually singing. Its breeding a generation of little self indulgent c@#ts. Get Rich or Die Trying? What the fk is that? When I have kids, if they listen to hip hop I'll kick the little hommie wannabe bastard out of the house.
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run

With music... i'm of the strong opinion that there is "No such thing as crap music".

it's all in your taste. I hate rap and hip hop. but it doesn't mean its crap. it just means that i don't like it. and i hate little white guys who want to be big black guys... but what do i care. As long as they aren't bothering me, they can do what they want.

I'm a big hard dance and trance music fan and i except that many people think it's crap. but the stuff they like, i think is crap.

so like i said.. there is no such thing as crap music.

ditto sam, it is pathetic, but like i said as long as they are not bothering me, i don't care... i'll just sit back and laugh at them.

The other type i hate are those people who think they are a full on hard core "Wog" just because their great great aunts best friends cousin is a wog... other than that, they are as aussie as they come.

I've known quite a few 'Greek' and 'Italian' blokes who never once considered themselves Australian despite the fact they had never left Virginia.

Anyway, a few of them went back to their 'homeland' to live and were shocked to find that they had difficulties fitting in becase nobody saw them as Greek or Italian.

The locals saw them as Australian.

I have a problem with people born here, who don't consider themselves Australian, unfortunately, too few of them return to their "homelands" just because yo speak the language doesn't mean you'll be accepted. At least the blokes you are talking about don't actively despise Australian culture, unlike a few other nationalities that come to mind :(

I should add that, with the exception of one - who was a very talented soccer, er football, player - they ALL returned home within a matter of months.

Back on topic..I recently heard the entire album 'Eminem - Curtain Calls' (greatest hits). I fought my 'old fart' instinct and actually listened to the whole 16 songs. Only two of these songs were actually any good 'Lose yourself' and 'Cleaning out my closet', the rest were just different versions of what seemed to me to be the same song (yeah getting old I know). And remember this album was the best of Eminem.

The guy is seriously fugged up and has made a success of himself by whingeing about his life..good luck to him, but I won't be going out of my way to buy any of his albums because he is seriously 5hite.

On any Eminem album you can pretty much skip to all the Dre tracks.

Because everything else is pretty ordinary.

Especially the tracks Eminem produced.

im not overly a huge fan of Eminem as much as i used to be, but still listen to his stuff mainly for the good beats, Fack and Shake that have pretty good beats off curtain call.

Maybe he should have stuck to beating it instead of doing what he sung about in Fack ay Samuel L Jackson?
