Quite possibly (no laughing down the back, thanks). 1927 do a pretty good show (saw them at the Gov last year and possibly heading back to see them there again in a few weeks), and I'd reckon Roxette wouldn't be too bad, even after all this time.

Trust me, LL, I'm not what ANYBODY would term hip when it comes to music. Even as I tap this up, I'm listening to Little River Band on the MP3 ("I'll Always Call Your Name", Beeb Birtles at his plaintive best). I don't think anybody who knows me well would ever accuse me of being a trendsetter with music, which doesn't bother me at all :)

A Day On The Green at McLaren Vale. Thought about going until Hall and Oates joined the party.

When Icehouse were first announced, I said to a mate of mine who also loves that era of music, that I wouldn't be surprised if Air Supply were support act. Wasn't far wrong :D

Does Portishead w Mercury Rev count as retro? Either way...I'm there!

Just a headsup, its an acoustic set with 2 others.
I'd contemplate going if it was a normal sort of gig as its only about 10 mins from here.

Never been a huge fan but I remember wandering down to the Colonnades Tavern one Easter long weekend in the early 90s. Only about 20 people rocked up and I was amazed at how good a show he put on, it was great buying a beer and walking straight back to the front of the stage. This from a guy who had played to 100k in Brazil. Was a great night and a great show.

Ahh, thanks for that. I saw the poster at the Winery last week, but didn't read it that closely. Will still head along though. I keep saying that I must go and see him, but keep missing it - won't make that mistake this time :) . If it wasn't Grand Final day on the Sunday, I'd go to the Norwood Hotel show on the Saturday night also.

Haha, like you, I'm not game to see who is actually fronting Dragon. Some things are best left unknown.
