Disgusting date selection for this city. Going to make us look very bad, which is so unfair.

Can we lobby to change it ??

Meh, Bad Religion is a nice carrot, but seen 'em and there isn't much else that'll make me wanna miss the GF. Think I'll save my money for Parklife on the Monday.

Havent been following this lineup really, but very keen now with Van Halen and Machine Head added!! Van Halen are back with their original frontman David Lee Roth. Alice Cooper would also have to be interesting to see!

AFL GF on the same day is a big ouch tho. Anyone know the price and venue?

Cost and location will be defining for me- apparently cost will be similar to Soundwave, so get ready for approx $150.

AFL GF day is a big ouch, hoping the bands I wanna see are later in the night.... Or I could just go to Melb/Syd.

Is it the showgrounds? I'd read that they werent allowed to have it there because the BDO have exclusive use of it as a festival venue

There is an agreement but I think it might only cover between specified dates.

Hollywood Undead - Really like HU, a bit of a change from the music i listen to most. Would love to see them live.

The Used - Seen them at the first Taste of Chaos in 2005, liked them before i went, hated them by time they were halfway through their set. Terrible!!!

Funeral For a Friend - Saw them at Thebby in 2006 and met Matt, the singer. New albums good so wouldnt mind seeing them again.

Sum 41 - First band i ever went to see, in 2003 at Thebby. Screaming Bloody Murder would have to be one of the best albums of 2011, so i definately wanna see them again.

Every Time I Die - Good old Southern twang on the metal/hardcore sound...love them.

Story Of The Year - Seen them before, and nearly died in their moshpit in 2005. Awesome live band. Backflips off amps are guaranteed.

The second announcement is Monday night. The promoter has said it will be about 8 bands but will include the number 2 and 3 headliner so still some very big acts to come.

So the Main stage will run in descending order
Van Halen
Band from second announcement
Another band from the second announcement
Alice Cooper

Rage Against The Machine, Cypress Hill, Go Radio, Anthrax and Limp Bizkit to be announced?

Fast louder website is reporting it could be any of these 2 bands Biffy Clyro, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Megadeth, Anthrax and Opeth.

Opeth would be amazing, would really like to see Limp Bizkit as well

I think Slipknot and Limp Bizkit have tour dates set that clash with Soundwave it won't be either of them.
