Stimulation is one of my favourite songs of all time!

As an eleven year-old back in '86 it was neck and neck with Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love.

My mate worked with Paul Gray on something about a year or so ago.

Producing other artists these days, he's responsible for some of the Australian Idol dross.

Ohhhhh all I need to get is stimulation...

Everyone can eat s#!t! A big bag of s#!t! I'm the greatest man in the world!

How Pete Murray makes the list, I'll never know. Most of the time, he sounds miserable and writes music accordingly. Not the sort of stuff I'd listen to on a Sunday morning to cheer me up.

Which makes me wonder where Weddings Parties Anything are in either list. Surely at least one would have cracked* the list.

I was quite happy to see Odyssey No. 5 get #1. Unit by Regurgitator is another favourite of mine, and it was lovely to hear some early Living End - I'd almost forgotten they'd written anything apart from 'White Noise', which has been monumentally overplayed on all radio stations for the last two years.

The fan vote is representative of the listener demographic, which is why bands like The Saints, The Go-Betweens etc ranked so low.

Nevertheless, there are some cracking contemporary (and, IMO, timeless) albums in there - Unit, Since I Left You, The Calling.

The industry list is better but still dodgy (IMO). Crowded House??? Okaaaaaaay......... :? And surely Back in Black by AC/DC is THE most overrated album in history.

Number 27 in the Industry list, Southee, and rightly so :)

I know I bang on about this a bit but honestly, if the impact Little River Band made overseas keeps getting unrecognised....Leaping Lindner (and others), I'd be interested to hear your honest opinion on whether they should be in there and why/why not.

Usually these sort of things are judged on the musical worthiness, which boat music of the likes LRB released clearly does not have (facetious much?), but also its impact on the music scene and future inspiration for other musicians.
Did LRB inspire anyone?

Pretty well summed up Dogwatcher. Little River Band (and Air Supply) were massively successful bands in America. I would honestly struggle to name three bands (hell...even one band) that would name these bands as huge influences. Radio Birdman's Radio Appear sold stuff all when it came out and yet it inspired an entire rock movement in Australia.
Bit like the old saying. Not many people bought the Velvet Underground's first album when it came out, but everyone who did started a band!
