They were that price when they went on sale in September.

I wouldn't pay $40 to listen to preaching, I made that mistake paying $100 last time they were here. Can go to church on a Sunday, and get the same show as Bono gives, for free.

I think he forgot that he was in a band that actually made music at one point.

How could you go to the show without expecting Bono to rattle and hum for a while about his political/religious/democratic beliefs?

If you went to a U2 show you should have expected as much.

Exactly. Went to the first Brisbane show at the last minute (got a cheapish ticket) and the political stuff wasn't too bad.
Bono went on about the recently released Burmese leader a bit and there was a pre-recorded message about African issues by Desmond Tutu ("What we neeeeeeeeeeed is to act as one"), which logically led into playing "One". Bono was keen to pay tribute to John Lennon on the anniversary of his death as well.
