I assume you bought the Missy Higgins CD more than 2 weeks ago then, Zipzap?

Heh heh. No, I can safely say there's no Sound of White Bread playing at Chateau Zipzap.

Depends on who you speak to zippy. Of course the stones purist will like it and buy it, thats why it went to no.3 on the charts then dropped to no.73 within 2 weeks.
I personally think its a good album but dont go comparing it with anything they did in the early 70's. In saying that, thats what too many people do and then rubbish them calling them old and has-beens.
If ya like, P.M. me and I'll get a copy to you for your own listening pleasure if your interested.

Now only if Mungo Jerry would re form and release some new material..........

last 2-3 weeks........

the prodigy - their law (the singles)
screaming trees - ocean of confusion (best of)
kanye west - late registration
sarah blasko - overture and underscore
trail of dead - worlds apart
the tea party - the edges of twilight
sigur ros - takk
wolfmother - s/t
portishead - roseland nyc live
rage against the machine - live at the grand olympic auditorium

and just for the record... agree with magpiespower & sam, funny ppl still think hip-hop is a fad but music's clearly better for it

i think the problem is that people think its just gangsta rap and nothing else because thats all they see on tv...... its just one part of a bigger scene, gotta love the aussie hip-hop coming thru now

To all who are naive enough to think I believe hip-hop/rap is a fad,WRONG,I know it is here for good, but surely,it doesnt mean I have to like/appreciate it.My music taste is wide and varied, and I will pretty much listen to anything, however you might say I enjoy [i]real music.Music that involves a drummer hitting real drums, not a synthesised machine "mixing up beats",or for novelty sake how about some one who can strum a chord on a guitar?

It is not only rap/hip-hop that really irks me,alot of modern music in general stinks, look at what the Idol fad around the world has done to us,it has given us Kelly Clarkson and Shannon Noll.Names that will go down along side Bob Dylan and co....

Think you'll find a lot of hip-hop acts have moved on from looping a sample.

Dre, Prince Paul, The Roots, Outkast, PE et al have been using musicians for for years.

Hell, Flava Flav plays seven instruments on PE's albums.

The 101er's (pre-Clash Joe Strummer) album has finally been re-released on CD. Picked up a copy last week at Big Star in the city (not a bad range there) whilst back in the old home town for a few days.

Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced,Axis:Bold As Love,Electric Ladyland.
Cream - Gold,Disraeli Gears.

Its pretty sad that I'm buying records which are nearly fourty years old,
but today's music, bar Tool,Muse,Radiohead, reeks.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.
