I've been having a bit of a Sundays fest after previously recommending their version of Wild Horses, and it being Stones night on Idol and all!

BTW: Did anyone see that poor girl get kicked out of Idol for doing that song? Admittedly her version of it was appalling, but I've never seen the judges go for the throat like that in such an ignorant way - Kyle said it was a boring, 'obscure' song and Marcia admitted she had never even heard it before! The poor girl stood up for herself and said she adored the song and was almost in tears last night when booted. Just goes to prove, if any more proof were needed, that show is nothing about the music. Especially when they praised up the bogan doing a pub karaoke version of Honky Tonk Women - which he sang as Honky Tonk Woman. Clueless....

Stumps wrote:worth a purchase quichey. first 6 songs are excellent- similar sounding to the single. sort of electro/dance/chillout. pretty easy to listen to. couple of slow weird ones but all in all a good album. The singer is luke steele from sleepy jackson (little birdy's brother and one taleted man)- i presume he wrote the songs- as well as a dude who playes in pnau. empire of the sun are the two of em as far as i know.

So it's pretty mellowed out then? I think I would have expectations of it being fairly upbeat, like the last PNAU album, so I wouldn't want to disappoint myself by buying it.

On the other hand, Luke Steele said in an interview it was the best music he'd ever made, although Nick Littlemore didn't say much. I do like that song they always play on the J's.

Food for thought.

How could anyone call "Wild Horses" an obscure song? But then again it is Kyle "Lord of The Bogans" Sandilands. I never watch this shite but being Stones night I would have watched if one of the contestants did a version of "Cocksucker Blues"

With Cadbury's being their main sponsor the Mars Bar might get them into trouble ;)

Kelley Deal 6000 - Go To The Sugar Altar. Similiar to The Breeders (funny enough  ) but none the less a great album.

Pnau - Embrace is a song that i used to like, but it was played too much and i started not to like it as much. I have recently bought The Kooks album Inside In, Inside Out which is not a bad album at all.
