Massive Pearl Jam fan - but I really can't stand listening to Betterman more than once every two years.

Spot on, and Daughter too. Rearviewmirror is totally underrated though.

Daughter last kiss and better man are way overplayed .

Alive is the song most people associate pearl jam with but you never hear it on the radio.

Given to fly would be awesome aswell

Daughter is better than Betterman, but yes.

Reason I do like daughter is that I believe it's a sequel to RVM.
(I wrote about it on a Pearl Jam mailing list in the late 90s)

Blood is underrated.

Agreed. What about Hail, Hail? That song should've been HUGE.

Should of been the first single and if no code had started with sometimes/all night/hail hail as the original tracklisting stated it would of doubled sales IMHO !!

But they weren't into that then.

They are my fav band and I have had the pleasure of meeting and talking to ed vedder on his solo tour a couple of years ago. Don't get me started on pj you'll have to start another thread :-)

Given To Fly is absolutely f**king awesome.

Their more recent output doesn't have the same magic as their first 5 albums, me thinks.

While we're at it, Radiohead are the new Pink Floyd.

I use to dislike Radiohead but my wife got me into them. I think Radiohead are essentially an experimental band. And as such they produce moments of brilliance but also sometimes like with a lot of experiments they fail. Most Radiohead fans won't admit the latter.

In rainbows is an awesome album bodysnatchers 15 steps nude and jigsaws falling into place are awesome.

There last album kings of limbs sucked. But Thom Yorke performed alot of the songs solo acoustically before they came out and I prefer the solo versions a hell of alot more.

Lotus flower (album version)

Lotus flower (Thom solo)

Good morning mr magpie (album version)

Good morning mr magpie (Thom solo)

Sometimes less is more.

Radiohead lost me after Ok Computer.

When they wrote songs, as opposed to pieces, they were quite brilliant.

I like riot act . If binaural had original track listing it would of been awesome.

Last two albums are ok.

Ten vs vitalogy yield are all 5 star albums for me.

1984 is a cracker of a record and that track really had metal and synth melted in together for one of the first times.

I can never get sick of Jump......always takes me back to a good part of life as a 10 year old :)

I love Jump, but I do prefer their stuff with Sammy Hagar.

Great music is great music, and a lot of Van Halen's work is timeless.

Tiny Music... is poppy, but only in parts, I believe. I quite liked the sloppiness of the playing and performance that at times harked back to 1960s and 1970s rock. I think that makes it their least pop offering as a whole. All the other albums, while being generally non-pop in sound, have a much more slick production style to it.

I still stand by Stone Temple Pilots being their least favourite album though.

One Hot Minute, I believe, has always been an undervalued album, especially when you consider its' predecessor and successor. However, I identified with the sound a lot more, as I wasn't always a big fan of their funk-punk offerings. I do think that one day it will get the kudos it deserves, as it was a stylistic left turn they really needed to make at the time.
