#13 Yesterday - THE BEATLES

Thanks for thinking of me, but it's actually one of my less preferred songs. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with it, but I just feel there are so many better songs that don't get recognition. Still, each to his or her own...

I agree shags. Paul's songs are musically basic and dont do anything for me. With theexception of Elanor rigby and helter skelter.
My top 10 Beatles songs in no particular order are

I am the Walrus
Strawberry fields forever
Across the universe
A day in the life
Glass onion
Savoy Truffle
Everybodys got something to hide except for me and my monkey
Elanor rigby
The word
Good morning, good morning

Its a bit hard to list 10 top songs by the Beatles. I have always found 'gems' in all their albums/material.
Being an obscurity lover I like songs such as Dont Pass Me By, Happiness Is A Warm Gun, Why Dont We Do It IN The Road? etc etc......in fact if I had a fav album it would be The White album.....but then again, Abbey Road is cool and as is Let It Bleed....ooops i mean Be. But in saying that I like Revolver and the song Doctor Robert and am quite partial to the Rubber Soul album too.
I cant make up my mind, perhaps Shagwell can come over and help me work through my dilemma.
Dont get me started on my Fav Mungo Jerry songs either.

We should have a thread listing the most overrated bands of all time..... or is that what we're talking about here?

I actually quite like that song too. We used to sing it in primary school on the "Let's Sing" ABC broadcasts (anyone remember them?)

"Little boxes on the hillside. Little boxes made of ticky-tacky.
Little boxes on the hillside. And they all look just the same.
There's a green one, and a blue one, and a pink one and a yellow one.
Little boxes on the hillside. Little boxes just the same."

Tim & Debbie (Brainspace) used to sing this song on 'Australia You're Standing In It'. (ABC comedy in '82) Reminded me of the Lets Sing broadcasts in the 70's.
For long you live and high you fly. And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry. And all you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.

Kinda gotta agree with PAFC, I've never been into the Beatles music personally, although nearly all of my mates are fans, I just can't understand all the fuss ... Just personal taste I guess

Yeah Blackbird is a pretty song. But musically it just doesnt arouse my senses. Theres something about John's voice that just brings chills down my spine.
Also have to add "in my life" to my top 10 list.
