I would think Luciano Pavarotti would be the largest singer?

Foo Fighters for me - concert last year was unbelievable

U2 and the stones are touring "at the moment".
I will try to find some figures on it all.

I presume we're talking about here in Australia?
I think U2's latest went top earlier this year......as for the stones, their last no.1 album was back in 94 with Voodoo Lounge.

I'm only trying to go by what I think this thread is apparently about.

The biggest band currently touring as far as attendances, ticket sales and shows go, is The Rolling Stones. This information is in regards to worldwide.

As far as album sales goes I wouldnt have a clue who the biggest band / singer is at this present moment worldwide or australia.

I read somewhere recently that The Beatles still out sell anyone else with their back catalogue and in saying this, I wonder how many copies of old albums the stones sell with their large back catalogue. This could obviously apply to many bands that are either dead or alive.

As rock and roll is dead, then it is still The Beatles, Stones, Elvis, Zeppelin, Floyd..yeah maybe U2. The album is dead so the charts don't mean squat. The Stones can still rock hard live even though they have somehow cheated D Eath out of his inheritance.

Modern music is like fast food easy to look at, hard to stomach and disposable. So take those old records off the shelf..I'll sit and listen to em by myself.....
