Interesting that the rest of the Oils, without Bones Hillman, have formed a band with the Violent Femmes' Brian Ritchie! Now that's bizarre

Garratt sat for the senate in 1984, so he never really despised it, just said he did because thats the view of the people who like his music!!

Yeah for the NDM, a bit different that running under the labour party...

He should of ran as an independant...

Quite right. Doesn't matter what he thinks anymore, he is hamstrung by the party machine. It's much easier for someone like him to be in opposition, to have something to rail against. I'm hoping that the shows on the weekend give him a little confidence to shake things up in Canberra a bit more - and regain his rightful place as a very effective and astute trouble-maker.

I agree Zip zap, .... but he is now in a more powerful position to influence policy that relates to conserving the environment. Which is why he is doing it.
Give him some time, he is still a relative newby, he can still shake things up. He is a very intelligent man.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

I thought musically they were excellent but vocally they sounded stretched.

Didn't see these gigs as I was on a pub crawl but it isn't often that the Finn brothers are vocally stretched. Still, anyone can have a bad night.

He just needs a little victory to get a start doesn't he? The way he's handled the whaling issue and the Tassie pulp mill haven't filled me with too much cause for optimism yet...

Neil was great, Tim was ok and the dude in the front, whose name escapes me right now playing the guitar and backing vocals was horrible and affected the sound of the Finns vocals as for some reason his voice was loudest.
