I'm sure that bloody Crazy Frog song will still be stuck in my head in 20 years time!

He asked if was going to the concert the following night and in my half cut state I said I couldn't afford tickets - not telling him I had actually forgotted they were here. I did like Parachutes a lot.
So he took out a business card and asked for my name. I told him, and he wrote it on there, with a "plus four" after it. To cut a long story short, I had my name on the door and took along four friends. It was great.
But, alas, I can't stand them now. The music is bordering on elevator muzak, and the singing sounds like a background singer, or male Enya. Every song, to me, sounds the same.
The soft songs on Parachutes were better ten fold than the songs out now. And where are the heavier songs? "Shiver" was, and still is, probably my favourite Coldplay song. Where has the guitar sound gone? I can see it in the film clips - just not in my ears.
I DO Feel old these days, even though I'm only a year and a half from 30. My musical tastes are almost set in stone, and not much "new" stuff seepss through the gaps into my daily listening. I love my old stuff, The Doors, Beatles, Allman Brothers, Deep Purple. I love older than that, with old blues, jazz - I have a lot of Miles Davis, Coltraine, Ellington and co. I love a lot of 90's music, mainly due to me being 13 to 23 in that decade. Pearl Jam were and are still my favourite band ever. Faith No More are great, but more so Mike Patton himself. Mr Bungle, Fantomas and every other Patton related project, gold.
Ok, it was a tangent - I'm sorry. But I get frustrated with people telling me I'm living in the past - and that I should listen to music of today. Bah. Music of today is made for today onwards. People in 50 years might be listening to it. Just because it's out now, doesn't mean I have to listen to itnow.
So, yeah, I don't care much for Coldplay these days.

Today's music is almost like fast food.
Old music is like a banquet, or beautiful cuisine; you'll talk about it for a long time (if it's any good!) and remember it.
