How good/funny was the circle-pit during Devildriver?!
And Megadeth played as tightly* as anyone I've seen live. How good was the Holy Wars/Four Horsemen/The punishment due finale??
Agreed MatteeG, Megadeth were definately very tight. Even A Tout Le Monde sounded really good, and that Christina from Lacuna Coil is a fair unit.
Once In My Darkest Hour started I went down in the mosh pit. Was crazy in there, but people looked after each other. Im 5 foot not much and I got absolutely pummeled in there! The songs from United Abominations were as good as any from the Rust In Peace era. Peace Sells sounded really powerful, and it was interesting to see the Drover brothers half swap instruments half way through. Tornado of Souls was the highlight for me, love that song. The Holy Wars/Mechanix/The Punishment is Due combo sounded awsome, dispite me stuffing up and singing the chorus to the Four Horsemen! There were a few complaints from people after the show about the poor sound quality, but it didn't really bother me.
Interesting to note that of the three Gigantour shows in Australia so far, Adelaide is the only one where Megadeth have got through their full set. In Perth Static X took so long to pack their gear up after their set that Megadeth had to cut In My Darkest Hour off the set, and in Melbourne they had to cut The mechanix out.

Devil Driver were very good. Very heavy and the singer knew how to work the crowd. Was funny to hear just before the circle mosh him saying this isn't emo screamo type crap, you need to look after each other, if people fall down, pick them up. Here is a vid of the circle mosh

I dont know what to make of Static X. They sounded really good, but they are what I hate about metal these days, just tune the guitars down, have them really distorted, repeat the riffs over and over, and jump around a bit. I like the thrash stuff better.
Only saw a couple of Lacuna Coil songs but they were a lot better than I thought. Even their Depeche Mode cover sounded really heavy. Christina has a really good voice. I think they can do away with the guy who looked like he should have been in Nickelback, who just sang a bit in the choruses.
Overall, Id have to say it was up there with the best gigs I have ever been to. I was still pumped up from it today, and was thinking about it today, even though I was going to see Muse tonight. I had waited about 17 years to see megadeth and they didn't disappoint at all.
