Pink Floyd to Tour

Postby JK » Mon Mar 06, 2006 10:24 am

Rex Jory mentioned in an article in the Mail yesterday that there's a top shelf internationl act heading to Adelaide Oval in December ... on AA this morning they revealed that it is in fact Pink Floyd ... Just wondering if there's many Floyd fans on here likely to attend if that is the case?

Liked 'em a lot once, sold all my PF albums in garage sale a few years ago. Won't be going I can never see the point of paying a heap of money to be uncomfortable.

That was 1988 Lunchy..it would have been a bit hard to play some of the songs from Momentary Lapse in 1986!

Thats very interesting. I read the same article.
I also belong to another website (non footy) in which recently they interviewed Roger Waters and he blatantly denied touring again and said that Floyd's performance at Live8 was purely a one off and something they needed to do as a band to put the "what if's' to bed.
However, if the rumour is true, I will be going. I've never seen them and would like the experience.

I've read that too. Strange...

Wish it was true, but Dave Gilmour and Roger Waters are (separately) touring around Europe in coming months and the PF tour rumours are just bullcrap.

From http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/ (4 Feb 2006)

PINK FLOYD & ROGER WATERS DENY CONCERT RUMOURS

Following on from our story of 27th January scotching the talk in the media of upcoming Pink Floyd reunion shows at London's Royal Albert Hall at the end of the year, the band themselves have come together to officially deny these rumours.

Their statement advises that David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright are joined by Roger Waters in categorically stating that there is no truth in the recent news reports about a Pink Floyd tour planned for this Autumn.

David Gilmour said: “Since Live 8 there are certain sections of the media that have deliberately misled fans and public by inventing stories and quotes about Pink Floyd touring: Nick, Richard, Roger and I are telling fans directly that this is not happening. We are also asking the various parties who are fabricating these stories to desist, if only for the sake of the fans.”

Please do not believe ticket agents, parts of the media with "exclusives" from "band insiders", and any other places claiming to know different! Should any decision be made for ANY activity, it will be announced properly through official channels. All that these false announcements have done have cruelly raised the hopes and expectations of fans worldwide, as is clear from our email inbox!

Rex Jory and Co could've at least been up to date with their fabrications!

This is indeed disappointing news, would love to have seen them ... When I first read the article, I thought he might have been referring to Robbie Williams as I thought I read somewhere he was a possibility to head out??

Looks like Jory was talking out of his a*se again! According to the Advertiser today, it is not Pink Floyd touring mid-December, infact it is Robbie Williams.
