Any one going to see Paul Stanley on Thursday night. From reading a few reviews of other shows it should be a fantastic night. Got seats in the second row.

Out of interest does anyone know of protocols regarding soundchecks? We were hoping to be able to get there in the afternoon. Has anyone tried to get in to see bands do soundchecks?

He did well on the footy show last week! I dont mind the newer grunge style going around, yet the guitar work on his current album is truly awsome, although not a huge Kiss fan, I will still very much be getting his new album if last thursday nights performance is anything to go by!

We can probably blame hime for turning Samantha Fox into a lesbian.

The Cd is pretty good, similiar to KISS, but with a more modern sound. Only downside to it is that it only runs about 35 minutes. In this day and age, when you can fit 80 minutes on a disc, i felt a bit ripped off. Worth checking out.

It was absolutely brilliant. He knows how to put on a show. The band he had was really tight and added a new dimension to his songs. I was lucky enough to get into the soundcheck which was an amazing experience. They played for about half an hour or so (maybe a bit less) to o crowd of about 30 people. It was really cool just to see a really casual approach to the live music. Got a very brief chance to meet him when he signed a poster for me, but in the heat of the moment could only muster up a "how ya going?". Pretty lame in hindsight.
Anyway back to the show, they played some obscure KISS songs and a lot off his 78 solo album. In between songs he would spontaneously play songs that were shouted out by the crowd and seemed to really enjoy having a go at songs off the cuff. It was really loud being up the front, but it was cool as i also got a couple of picks which were thrown my way. But it was great to feel young and enthusiastic again for a night, back to being nearly 40 again today. I know this is probably a biased comment, but if you weren;t there you missed one of the best live shows I have ever been to. It even topped the 97 reunion tour for me.
