This actually turned out to be a lot harder than it seemed at first. Add to that my "mostly mainstream FM radio" selections compared to a few earlier lists, which I will check out over time, I can just hope I don't cop too much grief.

Have repeated a few earlier picks. Why? Because I can. ;)

Bad Habit - The Offspring
Fade To Black - Metallica
Baker Street - Foo Fighters (Heard it again a few weeks ago. Would be quite happy with the classic Gerry Rafferty version though)
Four Walls - Cold Chisel
The Devil Went Down To Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band (My Krapeoke song from back in the day at Shennanigans)
We Are The Road Crew - Motorhead
Need You Now - Lady Antebellum (Don't know why. Just Like it)
1000 Miles Away - Hoodoo Gurus
Far Side Of Crazy - Wall Of Voodoo
Boys Of Summer - The Ataris (My preferred version)
Highway To Hell - AC/DC
Zombie - The Cranberries (Moves me to tears every time. Bloody softcock I am)
Real Men - Joe Jackson
Run To The Hills - Iron Maiden
Kashmir - Led Zeppelin
Don't expect to be compared to hendrix just because you're a virtuoso on the kazoo

That is a fairly difficult task.

Let us imagine however that you only have one hour available because you are going to be marooned on an island with a boom box, a single C-60 cassette, and an endless supply of D-cell batteries.

Let us further imagine that you will not be alone. You are going to be marooned with one other person.

And let us finally assume that you hate that person's guts.

Then the task becomes a lot simpler.

Coming in at a little over 62 minutes, I give you The Misanthrope's Hour. 12 thoroughly entertaining pieces guaranteed to piss off the neighbours, especially when played in endless rotation:

Severed Heads - Rabbi Nardoo Flagoon (6:41)
Wesley Willis - I Wupped Batman's Ass (3:27)
Minnie Riperton - Lovin' You (3:21)
Yoko Ono / Plastic Ono Band - Why? (5:37)
Einsturzende Neubauten - Kollaps (8:03)
Bad News - Bohemian Rhapsody (3:46)
The Birthday Party - Junkyard (5:49)
Black Lace - Agadoo (3:06)
JS Bach - Toccata & Fugue in D Minor (BWV 565) (8:30)
Ian Dury - Spasticus Autisticus (5:14)
Klaus Nomi - Simple Man (4:17)
Throbbing Gristle - Hamburger Lady (4:15)
Clowns OUT. Smears OUT. RESIST THE OCCUPATION.
