Why did I buy....

Yes, music now has its very own forum!

My first foray into music was when Mum and Dad bought me a double deck tape player. It was red.

Dad decided to make me up a mix-tape of songs he thought I'd like. I really didn't know anything at the time, I reckon I was 10?

Of the tracks I remember;

Starship - We Built This City
Stevie Wonder - I Just Called To Say I Love You
Michael Jackson - Thriller, Beat It & Billie Jean
Kenny Loggins - Footloose
Eurythmics - When Tomorrow Comes
Billie Joel - Uptown Girl
Ray Parker Jr - Ghost Busters

There were others, but that's what I remember.
I love 'Food and Stuff'. It's where I buy all of my food. And most of my stuff.

That would make a great thread on its own merit.

My entry would be:

I was horrified to discover that the title was not referring to the track of the same name (which I didn't mind), but to the calibre of the album as a whole.

Alice was always at his best when he slowed it down

You and Me
How you gonna see me now
Only women bleed

Trash was on the nose and most people could see that. Poison wasn't that great a song anyway.
