I would honestly struggle to name three bands (hell...even one band) that would name these bands as huge influences. Radio Birdman's Radio Appear sold stuff all when it came out and yet it inspired an entire rock movement in Australia.
Bit like the old saying. Not many people bought the Velvet Underground's first album when it came out, but everyone who did started a band!

I dont know ....love my LRB. Would you say they paved the way of some California AOR/MOR rock bands??? Journey??? Foreigner?? Styx ??? of the late 70's??? Harmonies and vocals would have influenced some bands I am sure in the producing side of things.
Definately paved the way for aussie artists in the U.S though.
CK, thanks for telling me about The Church's Starfish at No.27.....I can breathe now

Southee - would the Eagles have had more influence on those AOR/MOR acts than LRB? Interesting this convo has started because of JJJ

Southee as a matter of interest where do you rate Priest = Aura? It's my fav Church album (and a couple of mates as well who are long term Church fans).

Leaping Lindner wrote:The most overrated band in that list by far is AC/DC. They are very basic rock and roll band recycling Chuck Berry riffs with r&r cliche lyrics. And that's fine. That's what they do....but to rate Back in Black as the 2nd best Australian album ever is laughable (or embarassing). Forgetting the fact it was sung by a Geordie, Produced by a pom and written by a couple of Scottish brothers

And 'TNT' shytes all over 'Back In Black' too..![]()
