Eskino Joe. What ever happened to playing songs like Ruby Wednesday? Why do bands become ashamed of songs that made them well known in the first place?

End of thread ..... spot on boys . Im not sure global superstardom gave Daniel Johns the right to turn into a dead set fruit cake . Their performance at clipsal years back was by far the worst load of S*** i ve ever seen . I hung around hoping to hear few tracks off frogstomp which they never one. And to put up with the dribble coming out of his mouth it was enough to write them off for me

I'm currently trying to embrace the new REM album.

It's not working - file away with all their other 3-star albums...

Plenty of their early stuff being released here:

In a new, long-term agreement, the album catalogue of INXS, one of the world’s most popular bands of the past 25 years, is to be regenerated and reissued by Universal Music Group, the world’s leading music company. The first titles will become available early next month.

The deal was sealed by Chris Murphy, longtime manager of INXS, and Andrew Daw, Vice President, Strategic Marketing, Universal Music Group International. It covers the world outside North and South America.

From their original formation in Australia in 1977, INXS created a body of work which has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, including No. 1 hits in four continents, six UK Top 10 albums, five US Top 20 albums, and 33 hits in their homeland Australia. The band’s most successful releases include 1987’s “Kick,” with global sales of 10 million,1990’s “X” and 1992’s “Welcome To Wherever You Are.”

The current line-up of INXS remains a force in music, with sell-out concert dates around the world. The band recently announced the headline slot at the inaugural Southern Sounds festival, which takes place in London this June and earlier this year, the band undertook their first Australian tour since 2007.

Newly remastered, the INXS album catalogue will be re-released by Universal Music companies from June this year and will be available for the first time in several years in both digital and physical formats. Additional releases, including a new 2011 “Collection,” will be supported by significant marketing and promotional activity.

Andrew Daw commented, “We’re delighted to see the return of INXS. People forget how significant an act they have been. During the 1990s, along with U2 and Guns ’N Roses, they were THE stadium band. We're looking forward to giving this catalogue the respect it so richly deserves.”

“INXS and Chris Murphy, their manager, are delighted to have all their classic recordings reunited with Universal Music, and look forward to working alongside NS&A and the international catalogue division of UMG in re-establishing the huge world brand they created in the ’80s and ’90s,” said Nick Stewart, CEO, Nick Stewart & Associates. NS&A is the London-based marketing and management consultancy working with Murphy and Universal Music on the INXS catalogue.

U2 - Big fan of anything under POP ( yes..I liked this album) Now just radio friendly hits without the power or energy of early years.

Absolutely agree with these two - I have every David Bowie album from the early 70s until Ashes to Ashes. The Unforgettable Fire is my favourite U2 song and the last album before I went off them. Very early.

Disagree

Heaven and Hell - One of the best if not the best Sabbath album. Dio>Ozzy
Mob Rules - Another top album from the Dio era
Born Again - This album kicks arse. Deep Purple vocalist Ian Gillan does a top job with Sabbath on this one. Disturbing the Priest and Trashed two of my favourite Sabbath songs.

Metal Sacrilege dissing the majority of Sabbath's catalogue. Back to Justin Beiber for you.

Um this thread is about artists that jumped the shark and you are talking up Black Sabbath as an example of this phenomenon!
