Money trail to flaggies....i wouldnt think so. Not too many clubs, if any, could complete with Marion in the money stakes, so Panther, i dont know where you get your facts from. Flaggies is another example of building a club around their juniors and will surely reap the rewards in years to come.

hard to say vc im not sure what other teams are doing but word from the coaching staff is that they a really happy with the way the team is shaping up. The new blokes have settled in and have given the others a bit of spark and there is still a couple of other guys we are talking to at the moment that would be an asset to the team

specky no juniors you say we have about 400 kids on the books at the moment and this season will be the first time that we have had a u18 side for as long as i can recall. As for buying players what club are you from does this not happen there i think you will find all clubs buy players if you deny that you are kidding yourself its the way footy is these days but if you think we are spending BIG at the shoe you are mistaken my friend. our juniors are on the right track mate so if we are lucky one day you might respect us

Pat pretty much comitted to Marion but changed his mind and followed money trail to Flaggies.
Not sure if hes worth the big coin hes on. The pressure is on him to perform.

What position do the Walton boys play?

Shoey, i agree, all clubs would be playing players but some more than others. Its good to see the shoes are fielding an under 18s team for the first time in years, but you cant expect immediate results from the young fellas. It will take time and thats why im predicting a slide unless players are bought.

specky there has been an attitude problem at the shoe for a couple of years with some of the players not putting in enough but with ratsy coaching now we are trying to get things back on track which seems to be happening so i would expect a better showing this year from the lads but time will tell

Observer i never said Matt was on good money but Pat is definitely being well looked after.
Croc and Specky my info comes straight from the horses mouth.Believe what you want to believe.
If youve been around footy clubs long enough youd know that the truth never comes out about whos getting paid what.
Specky you say that no one could compete with Marion in the money stakes but Flaggies took them on and won.
Trust me.

No worries mate, extra laps tuesday night :D . It was a good night, very fast games as you would expect. Having a beer under lights watching footy, good crowd too. Reynella looked good the first half but Edwardstown came back and was a close finish. Happy Valley and Blackwood was fairly even but Blackwood kicked a few too many behinds.

Walton boys

Postby Ruck Legend » Sat Feb 10, 2007 11:20 am

Pat Walton is a very good player and should push very hard to be one of the top five players in the Southern Football League.

Matthew Walton is also a very good player as well. He also played one game for South Adelaide. I was best mates with Matty at Reynella East Primary and it is good to see he is playing footy again.

Good Luck Pat and Matty - I am sure your Mum is going to enjoy watching both you boys in the same team on a Saturday.

Panther, i also know straight from the horses mouth, that Pat Walton isnt getting as much coin from Flaggies as what Marion offered him. I suppose he didnt want play for Marion, and i can probably see why. What ever quality young fellas they had have all pissed off to play with CLG in A7, so it looks like they'll will struggle again this year.

carey mate get off what ever drugs your on, these blokes are not getting paid for petes sake, crichton coached these blokes in under 18s and they all want to play together under paul again, not for coin, just coz they are sick of the southern league and want to play with their mates!

the sfl is too predictable, you have the top, middle and bottom groups of clubs with the gap between the 3 groups being embarrasingly large i hope that changes but it seems unlikely. an example of this was the last minor round game of 2006 at bice oval christies v morphies the saints needing to win to sneak into the 8 and the emus scraped in by 40 GOALS, now if the saints had played the hawks that day the result would have been the same in favour of christies
