i think 2 divisions would be a good thing to bring back for a season or two so that all the bottom 7-8 sides can go through a rebuild. the comp would still be competitive, IMO the teams like aldinga, flaggies, noarlunga would come out of the shadows of the top 3 sides and actually have a shot in a final series. all be it a div 2 comp. but then it could be a top and bottom 2 swap divs every year...thoughts????

thats usually what happens. but theres always gonna be that gap between how good the clubs are if they ever want to merge to comps back together in the future.

i dont think any teams merging will help. if they're able to field teams in every grade (besides C's) whats the point...putting two teams of mediocre players together isnt gonna somehow make them better.

i think differently more players more depth more pressure on the higher players to perform and train. More numbers would bring more ownership and players would strive to perform. This is one of reasons why the top clubs are successful

that also means at least a whole 2 teams worth of players will miss out on getting a game. if they're competing against 41 other players to get a B grade spot they will lose a lot of numbers after a while.

Football is cyclical get over it. Morphies won what, 4 flags in the late 70's early 80's then nothing for what almost 20yrs then they have been successful again.
Clubs change, people change, a lot of hard work and things change.

Just to be clear, I wasnt just talking about hackham...wasnt having a crack at anyone or their opinions...it was just a comment on what i think about clubs folding when theres still some fight in them...I agree that footy clubs cycle from bottom to top to bottom...look at Port...GF one year, 12th the next...but hopefully Hackham will break into the finals in the next few years...
