Are you trying to play it down Swooper?
What about the meeting at the start of the year saying he's a crucial part of their new 5 year plan to stay on top?
Im sure it was a good deal no doubt- pretty big loss though.

To hell with beating round the bush, this should make for a good day at work on Safooty.net:

The ever popular Jervoi$ have somehow found an extra $500 a game to throw at Reid "Chopper" Beeching to bring him down there for the remainder of the season. You will note that Reid hasnt been playing at all this year saying he wanted a year off to get his body right and look after himself for work. Reid is one of only 5 or 6 players who have played in each of the Emus flags, played all his juniors at the club so to lose him is very disapointing to say the least. Dunno how long he has signed for or anything like that.

Not playing it down at all. i'm sure everyone at Morphies would prefer that he was playing the remainder of 2008 at the emus. but as i said it was understood fairly early on that he wasnt going to play at all in 2008.

His knee must be starting to feel alright again and i'm guessing has received an offer he cant turn down. Hopefully he goes alright and then comes back to the emus in 2009.

I think you wont have to worry about looking after him as I don't think Reid will be playing in the B's.

Wouldnt say he is "lost" CT, think of him as being on loan. My mail tells me he will be an Emu again next year...

Because i was at footy training last night - we in the SFL train 2 nights a week P32! And this was the figure that was quoted by the blokes who have spoken with Chopper.

Feel free to use this as an acurate figure if you are planning on barging in to $ammy's office and demanding a raise

Heres hoping its just a loan TD!

And lets hope its not a "you break it you bought it" sort of deal as the bloke hasnt been playing coz of achey kness/ankles/back and hasnt trained all year!

Think he is big enough to make his own decisions CT. Morphies look like favourites for another flag without him, so shouldnt hurt them too much anyway.

Players who go to the Bluds usually enjoy it and stay on. This could be the case with Reid. Lets wait and see. I'm sure Morphies will be in regular contact with him.

Seeing as he is a 4 time premiership player, played juniors there and his old man is the Prez fingers crossed that he does return to the emus sooner rather then later.

Hopefully he goes alright out there. A great player, a top bloke and one that we wouldnt want to lose for too long.
