I believe you are right petoe, From what I know Morphy parks are a "preferred" place for Bays U/19s and ressies players...

Having said that, still a mighty effort by the roos to beat Reynella on their own patch- Well played twisties!!

You will find out that Reynella is a good side on there day but always find ways to
self implode, having said that no one is doubting that the Twisties didnt play real well and its fair to say this would be one of the best results for the SFL for quite a while

I can say that the morphys only had one player that plays at glenelg play on the weekend he plays under 19s and has played i think around 4 games this year for morphies

I wouldnt say it is just morphys when u consider brighton hav a few out there and phos have a few as well so they are split up across the board

Mex are the rumours true have there been some big names been dropped?

Sounds rather dramatic Hills, rattled you say..?? I suggest you check the boot for our teams, a reuglar A grader played 2's last week and got B.O.G. he's clearly a level above B grade.

Rather dramatic you say mex? do you care to have an opinion on the weekends events?

With two losses in a row Morphies are rattled. Undisciplined acts starting with the COACH including giving away a free kick and throwing the clip borad is shocking.
the coach has obviously had an impact on the players performances.
whats next for Mvale and the coach? And who are their next challenge?

Absolutely luvsfooty.
Just because Morphett Vale have lost 2 games doesn't mean that there is something wrong with the club, maybe the other clubs that are aspiring to be as good as them are catching up a bit.

I think your a little bit on the touchy side there Smithy! Nowhere in luvsFooty's post did he say there was something wrong at Morphett Vale let alone mention the name Morphett Vale!!! Funny how you thought he was talking about your club...even though there's nothing wrong there... :-k

Hard to go into exact reasons Dutchman, i mean, a 3 point loss could certainly have been just as easy the other way, like last year when we won by 1 point... Some moves were made in the last quarter to try to break the game open and they didn't quite work, i'm all for that experimental type stuff as it gives you a great indicator of what you can/can't get away with come finals... Valley were at it all day and was a classic Emus/Vikings encounter...

Rattled...??? It's actually 2 losses in three weeks by a combined total of 11 points, WOW, hope a thorough investigation is under way in our football department to ascertain the reasons why things are going so poorly... Both games could've easily gone either way, as for our next challenge, not too much coming up after the break, looking forward to our run into finals...

I agree, expermients can be a good indicator, but there is a time and a place for experiments Mex. Experiments always have a chance to fail. I guess losing a game during the season doesnt mean much in the bigger scheme of things, but i hate other teams knowing that the Emus can be beaten, and it has happened twice this year.

So whats the solution with the Hawks ? Apparently several blokes backed up from B grade to play in the A grade against the Bombers on Saturday. I reckon they should drop most of their Under 18 eligible players back to the 18's so they can still field an 18's and if that means they forfeit the B grade so be it. What about 2009 and beyond. Here's a suggestion. Hackham fields one senior team in the B grade comp (Centrals and Woodville did it in SANFL from 1958-1963) which will allow most of the younger lads to play in their proper age group and more of a chance they will come through into the Seniors when they are more ready. The A grade comp then has a BYE each week but maybe the A grade season could be started a week early to give each club the preferred 18 games 9 home 9 away. For the clubs who would have drawn to play Hackham twice, maybe they get an automatic win which is a way of still having a seeded draw but making the actual draw a bit fairer and even spread for everyone in 2009.

Panther32 - I know there was nothing in that post referring to something being wrong at Morphett Vale, I was agreeing that the unpredictable results are good for the comp and any earlier mention of MV imploding are probably false.
MV are not my club by the way......I have mates who play at CBFC and PNFC so I take an interest there but thats all.
Who is jumping to conclusions now ?

I agree, this was my thought last year. this should be done ASAP. I guess they can't midseason, so this could be done next season.

thanks champ - very interesting year thus far! what a year so far by COVE. Cove , HV and MV are the teams to beat so far. But it is very even cause Reynella beat H.valley, but have had some shockers too! it will probaly be Brighton Reynella battling it out for that top 4 spot. Flaggies and M.Park have been great so far too.
