Ruck Legend - I recieved information regarding the Russell's a few weeks ago from a pretty good source. This info is a bit old but as I understand they will have a few work committments next year and may find making time for footy a bit difficult.

Went to AGM on weekend, club going well, made healthy profit this year. Independently audited and submitted to league. Bar is open 4 nights a week now and has cheap meals. The football club is in full control of the lease and sub-leases to soccer and cricket.
Unfortunately for the clubs who don't like the trip down we will be around for a while yet :D

Had meet the coaches / players night last night with good numbers and our new signings are keen. Pre-season starts in 3 weeks at Pt Willunga beach.

Thats good cause Blackwood B grade made finals this year I hear.
Baldock (Captain I think), Blucher (not sure of the correct spelling) are two that have signed. Met them Wednesday night.
I'm on basic payment for A grade $30. All A's get paid champ, did last year too.
Contract covers insurance for injury etc also.

Blackwood B's missed finals mate. They have however played finals in 3 of last 5 years. Blackwood B's play Kangarilla A-Grade.
Baldock is a great bloke and an A-Grade player who just hasn't been given a go at Blackwood.
Blucher hasn't played for a couple of seasons but was a class player for Blackwood A-Grade when they were grand finalists, Tall with a good mark. If he can find the form he had a few years ago will be a good signing.
I am surprised all A-Grade get paid a base rate of $30. Good idea keeps the locals happy i would guess ( if your club can afford it , why not)
