They have also picked up Wes Bilney from Mallee Park (Dual Mail medalist) and Jason Marks from Lonsdale. Although the Mallee Park faithful still believe Bilney will end up back there to play in 08...

On good authority that Hackham lost norrowly to Macclesfield in a trial with numerous A-graders missing,Also their b's were very competative.I know it is only a trial and macclesfield recently have not been much chop but it does show that they have improved over the off-season. Good luck to the lads. I reckon they will not finish bottom.......

Aldinga did well in the 20/20 comp at Encounter Bay, beat Lonsdale , Encounter Bay and Berri then lost the final to Enc Bay. Not sure Berri would have expected to lose their first game to Aldinga straight up.

Would hardly expect berri to travel 400 km and bring down any where near their full side. Sounds bout right though with who played in the final.

Are you serious???
He's played a trial with Marion as well! I guess he's testing out which team he wants to play for. I guess it can't be good if he hasn't been back to Pt Districts since.

We lost by a goal to Aldinga, had more of the ball, more scoring shots, and no, not a full side, mind you, i don't think anyone brought their full side.
Our captain was playing at AAMI stadium for SA country while our vice captain was (this is kinda embarrassing) at his sister's 21st birthday party.
We were competitive, but it was all about the team gelling with new players, i think there were about 10 in the starting 18 who hadn't played for Berri the year before.
The umpiring was terrible, but trial games are trial games.
The game between Lonsdale and Aldinga was anything but a friendly, a few Lonsdale players using extremely dirty tactics, pretty disgraceful really.
Also overheard the Lonsdale coach pep talk after the game urging players to take heads if they were beaten in a contest twice, lay as many punch tackles as possible, and sink the knees in coz the opposition would if given the chance.
There wasn't a word about getting the football at all.
Despite that, our game against the lions was a good, fair encounter.
Mustn't have listened to the coach.
Disgraceful.

I don't know, we were warming up on the hockey field near the oval, and they were out there too.
I don't know if it was a tactic used to psyche us out, but it was pretty evident in the way they played aldinga that there were other motives than just the ball.

Silicone, what were your thoughts on Aldinga? And do you think they will finish higher than Lonsdale based on the 20/20

Is Wes supposed to be at Marion now? Enc Bay tried clearing him earlier this year also. PSoken to very reliable sources in Lincoln, he will end up back there shortly, the season over there starts two weeks after the SFL.

Wes has been training at Marion for about the last six weeks and played in the last two trials. Seems to be enjoying himself out there.

Honestly, Aldinga looked better than Lonsdale, but i wouldn't know what full squads they have.
add on top of that the Aldinga boys were a little keener to play the ball, and you probably have a better team.

Flagstaff Hill went down by a few goals to Kangarilla and heard Cove went down to Mt. Compass. Any reports for these games guys or other results?

Good to hear Aldinga are on the improve, won't be at all surprised if they knock over several of the competition's middle sides, eg. Lonsdale, Noarlunga, Marion etc.
