You can confirm he's not just training to stay fit? I heard he had re-injured his arm in last seasons finals and the risk is just too great to continue playing....for this season at least.

Then again, there wouldn't be any money left after they pay their new ruckman..

Jez has already signed and will take the experience from playing State into next season, no doubt he will be telling everybody on here soon that he will be a shoe in for the Mail medal..
Again, from what I hear he got paid last year and this year, it's definitely not enough to solely travel and hour and a bit to play footy! If you look through his past posts, he points that out and says that he loves it there and while they keep winning premierships has no reason to leave.
The ruckman on the other hand...pure mercenary!!!

Lets be careful rember this cash thing that everybody has a whinge about is a result of the points system's leagues are bringing in. and players are gonna go for large amounts of money after all it does make the world go round! im not saying whats right or wrong but its gonna happen. And before you have a crack at me i have played and recieved money but ive also played for nothoing and handed money back so i do understand both sides of this story.

sorry just sick of all the cash talk on these forums!
:D :D
I really don't care about people playing for money, obviously it's part of the game but it's when people say stupid s***t like "money was not a factor" when a person goes to another club for whatever reason and gets MORE money there then they were at their previous club! May not have been the main reason but it's certainly a good incentive.
Sounds to me like sour grapes there "Junior", but you can believe whatever you like. I suppose if club A was paying him nothing and when he decided to play at club B they paid him $5 a game then shit, he must have left for money!!! Isn't that what your saying??? If clubs take care of the players they want to keep then you probably reduce the chance of that stuff happening.
But i'm sure if you were offered a ASO6 role in the Government instead of a shitty ASO4 role which means more money and a better team to play for then you would simply turn it down...wouldn't you "Junior"???

Nah not at all mate. As i said, nothing agains't playing for cash.
Just incredbibly naive to think that cash isn't the no.1 motivater in people changing club, surely even you couldn't refute that.. not on your pay.
Who wouldn't want more money out of the government! Haha.

But to think that that is the only incentive to change clubs would be extremely naive as well. Some players don't get along with coaches, some want to play with mates or family, some want more playing opprotunities, some want to play closer to home or work, some just want a realistic chance of winning a premiership, there are a million different reasons why people change clubs. To say that money is the only reason someone leaves is just having blinkers on to what you or any other person wants to think the reason for that person departing is. And again it comes back to sour grapes. Just ask Footymad!!!

Footy Mad welcome to the real world of vcoaching just remember the money offered by yourself and the other club that was affected.
Especially when the player may have been inflated in price and then expects this price

Observer dont get me wrong mate, Im not bothered, just having a bit of a tickle with the big fella. Blokes are welcome to our club and can come and go as they please, the thing is we never burn our bridges, if a fella is after money and then doesnt like what he see's more often than not if he feels welcome he will return - or in this case retire...

If a players club isn't willing to pay a player as much as another club then they obviously don't think they are worth it, so what's the big deal if they move on???

This is actually very true, only one player though. The coaches nephew will be flying in every week, this has nothing to do with the club though - the coach himself bought a whole heap of Tiger Airline tickets when they were released at like $9.95 each way! Very smart move I say and verv cheap, my hat goes off to him.

Ha thats a GOLD idea from Marion, flying in recruits on the cheap thru Tiger Airlines! Surely there is no excuse now for lack of players at a club, not with help at hand for only $9.95 each way! Also you'd be able to plan an awesome footy trip with all those frequent flyer points :D
