I'm not an idiot AFLflyer. My contact might be closer than you actually think. The money is well and truly up there mate. Clubs pay players yes... some spend plenty more than others yes. But this payment is the highest I've heard from any SFL club that I know of. You gotta wonder where the money comes from. In total (including all players) it would without no doubt breach the salary cap. But that can never be proved.

I dissagree Rockhead you are an idiot!! a thouroughbred. There is no way Ben Moore is getting huge money he wanted to return to the club he started out with and finish his footy off at Reynella and enjoy his last couple of years in the game. Two weeks ago you were saying how we handled this badly and now you pretend to know what is going on you my friend are a fool and have no idea what you are talking about.

YEAH RIGHT LEG ROPE!! .... Good club men you say?????? what do you think his match fee would be? $200, $300, $400 a game ? im thinking the latter. [b]SIGN ON FEE[b],maybe some electrical appliances ranging between $3500-$5000.. knowing he turned down the first couple of offers i'd say im probably round the mark from what i've been told. Then Butcher??? and MILO??
how many players are on $400 a game in the SFL? I know one for sure now!!! 2 if butcher signs.
Good club men are a core ingrediant to on field success at any footy club, do these players mentioned fit into that? maybe yes, but at a big cost and risk!! while the true club men at reynella get shafted! (e.g D.Thredgold last years finals series) and restrict the chance of blooding some up and coming youngsters from last years B grade.....?

i think the guys down at wheatsheaf rd are right (mexican and i hate to admit it but ZC too)
you build a club from juniors and a great club atmosphere where everyone is treated equally and money is not an issue to anyone. you cant buy a premiership................................exept the shoes from 2001.

edited by smithy - you can't go saying that stuff here mate...

HA... you are slightly funny fly. You actually believe Moorey is coming back for the love of the club. Do you even know Moorey champ... I doubt it. Good luck to you if it cost you a fortune to get him there... but don't deny it. Your better off saying yes it cost the club a bit and we hope it brings us home a flag. I'm not going back on my word, this was handled badly initially by the RFC but things got desperate, they pulled out all stocks and an offer was put in place that couldn't be refused. Accept the facts, this is the same as denying the fact players had to give up a round of match payments to get Butcher there last season. You haven't got any phone calls hey fly... there's a reason for that.

You make that sound like channel 7 will be involved in the announcement... Turn it up...

Lets be honest if they want to challenge for the flag this year they need to improve, the only way they will do this is by signing quality players, if they are doing this good luck to them...

I did hear some noise that a couple ex Westies players may be on board for 2008, haven't got any names yet so i will wait for confirmation, apparently Evans knows a few people around the traps.

Forgive me if my mail is not quite correct, it's just that i don't want that meanie "Leg Rope" on my case again... Oh i was having a beer with a bloke who told me that too so my mail might be completely ballsed up (another go at you Leg Rope if you didn't pick up on it..)

Whose not happy about all the signings? The more they go spending money on bringing big names in the further they get from what they need to win a flag!

Push comes to shove someone getting paid $400 a week that was reluctant to sign in the first place isnt gonna risk getting injured while a young guy that has been around the club for years and would be more than happy to break his leg throwing himself on a ball in a prelim, if he knew it meant they would be in the GF the next week, gets to have a crack at 3 in a row in the 2's!

I'm sure it will build more of that great club spirit they're known for!

From what i hear with Moore it was down to two clubs he was choosing between, Reynella offering plenty and the other offering $0. The other club was probably in a better comp, he knew more of the blokes and just across the road from where he lives, better I wouldnt blame him for taking the $ and the white goods.

Fair chance saying that div 2 is a better comp will stir some of these southerners up. I agree with you though.

haha, a more even comp i would say then. Think most of the top SFL sides could match it with Div 1/2 clubs, but thats another debate!

I agree Mexican, turn it up efc!

You couldnt be more wrong. I for one am very happy with the news about the signings. Good luck to you and lets hope there is more to come! Hopefully it affects Reynella's longevity as a successful club and we will remember you when you hit rock bottom, all because there was no foresight from your coach and administrators to develop your club and its players.

Are all these signings an admission that you are not good enough? That must be hard for the core playing group to take!

Surely Morphett Vale has left a blueprint for other clubs. Signings dont equal success!

Its definitely an admission that Reynella’s current list are not up to a premiership standard. You cant have a go for doing what any club would do and that is actively recruit. I guess the question is at what cost. Reynella’s U/18’s narrowly went down in the GF last year so you would think that there would be a few lads coming thru looking to play and experience senior football in 2008. Will there be any opportunities with all these new players or will they have to look elsewhere for a game of footy? If these new recruits get a premiership and stick round the club for a few seasons then Reynella have made the right call. But if things don’t go to plan and they take off after one season then where to for the winey’s?

Its an interesting gamble the coaching staff appear to be taking.

It was actually three clubs all in different leagues and he knew more blokes and has closer mates at the other two clubs. Reynella actually requires the most distance to travel from where he lives. It just came down to the $$$ and electrical goods. Can't blame the bloke, that's footy.
