the club rooms are set too far back from the grond - the club itself is too small and old. its good when you can watch a game from a clubs rooms / bars. porties is one of the best playing and car watching grounds though.

The clubrooms themselves have been upgraded with new furniture, carpet bar etc in the past years.
There is a limit on what can be done with the building though because of the straw like ceiling and asbestos.

As for the club being way back from the ground, I agree it's a bloody nuisance, especially in summer where all the cricketers have is those 3 small bunkers.

I think the clubrooms where the second built in the area for a sporting club, so really couldn't model itself on other clubs ideas. but whoever 1st came up with the idea of clubrooms virtually set the standard for others to follow.

Aldinga – Plenty of potential with this oval and club
Brighton – top oval, cars, grand stand, good club rooms etc

Think Hackham is pretty damn good apart from the change rooms.Would just about be the best surface in the SFL now wouldn't it?? Far from what it was like when I was playing there, was terrible then but the council spent alot on a new drainage system and it works a treat.

Heres mine.

Aldinga – Plenty of potential with this oval and club
Brighton – top oval, cars, grand stand, good club rooms etc
Noarlunga - good with minimal wind
Happy Valley - when the surface is good (been crap last couple of seasons)
Pt Noarlunga - needs updated facilities
Reynella – plenty of sloped car spaces, good standing room and club.
Christies – great size and surface.
Hackham – was good in the day, when the crowds were there

Usually disagree with you AFL but you have obviously been around because I would rate the ovals and facilities as same as you
Marion – good facilities upstairs with a view – main positive
Cove – no good, no cars, too small.
Flagstaff Hill – it’s improved…… limited car room
Morphett Vale, too small, bad surface.
Morphy Parks – it’s a park?
Londsdale – It’s a school

Probably forgot someone?

I would rather play at Lonsdale than Cove, no trees hanging over the boundary and no Meningacoccal desease from their change rooms, and one of the better playing surfaces around, the best warm up area too. No cricket pitch in the middle. Maybe if the school closes down they might get a fence on the outer wing.

What made him change his mind? It's a great effort by Cove to have kept him because no doubt every other country SA club would love him!!!
There is all this inuenedo Cove have had a mass exodus but now Vick is staying and no one else has been confirmed as leaving!!! I think they will be very strong again and there young side another year older willl improve!!

Was speaking 2 some Morphett vale players on the weekend & apparently they wanted David Earl as coach, but the commitee wanted Steve Hill.A few players are not happy. The club would want 2 hope Sam Mahoney doesn't get wind of this,as no doubt he will be able 2 keep them happy!

Hey magic man... You obviously have no idea about why blokes play at Morphies do you... It's because the club culture is second to none and it is bred into you from a young age to play at the club for life unless higher grades are calling or unless you are greedy... I recall a couple valuable brothers trying the Jervois thing, needless to say they are back at the mighty Emu winning A grade flags... Perhaps all is not as it seems down at the Bluds..?? Not sure how they could make them "Happier" as you say..??

Mex, Jervois is great mate..... So dont try and take anything away from the club!

Sounds like your getting a little steamy (as my brother would say). were you keen for D. Earl as well?

All is good down Blud's land Mex,but it obviously isn't with a few at Emu land.I'm only letting you in on what i was told,no need 2 get stroppy champ, speak 2 your players & see for yourself, or are you on the commitee & didn't think 2 speak 2 your players?

magic man....... BAD MAIL THERE MATE! had a few beers sat night with some morphie lads aswell and from what i have heard your mail couldnt get any more full of sh!t......it came from players that you would consider the heart and soul of the side, and the feeling is mutual in the entire senior squad. D EARL is a great coach and motivator dont get me wrong, he also does add a different dimension in the coaches box i BET!
To say players arent happy and would consider leaving because S.HILL is coach again is like saying Jervois dont pay players( Thats right , its Full Of SH!T).
Players dont pick the coach and i couldnt see why you would change something that isnt broke!
sammy can come callin as much as he wants, but all the lads down there know how lucky they are to be part of the culture and success and wouldnt exchange that for money any day!!

HILLS.. no good mate, no truth, no fact, just blatant bull crap...............good try lads

Taking a few points from your comments Big Red seems to me that you too would preffer D Earl as coach. All praise for him but none for the actual senior coach??? Honestly Early should be coaching S Hill had done nothing as a coach untill he was given an unbeatable team. How did the hawks and shoes perform under him?

Players not picking a coach is a funny comment to. If half the premiership side from the last 3 years wanted him gone or they would leave im sure the club would react. Also one of the best crickets sides in the world has a very strong handle on who coaches them.!!!

Your last comment "but all the lads down there know how lucky they are to be part of the culture and success and wouldnt exchange that for money any day!!" Are you saying that there isnt success down at jervois or any culture???

A few Morphy boys are saying things to keep the club happy but fishing round to maybe join other clubs. I know for certain that Seaton are talking to a few. Also GSFL throwing money at a couple of younger brothers.
