FM I hear what your saying but if Dutchy says that Jervois dont recruit everyone rings them then it must be true.

Dont give up do you footy nut...

Of the two players footymad is referring two, i am told one is from Encounter Bay and the other is from Willunga...and yes, both players made contact with Jervois. Jervois followed up to set up a meeting. Would be stupid to not even discuss options, but nothing is signed.

Also saw Mahoney talking to a number of Morphett Vale players at the Highway last weekend. Looked more in depth than just friendly conversation. But with your hand on the pulse i'll wait until you tell me the story...

Dutchy are you saying that these players ring Sammy and ask to play there. Then get offered big $$ to do it. Has to be one or the other i wouldve thought?

I know the 2 players and they are both quality! Could do worse than get them to play for the Bluds.

Thats exactly what i am saying BJ. In both cases the players got in touch with Sam. Of course, if Sam wanted someone he would get in touch with them, but not on these occasions.

I just posted in the RMFL forum saying people mistakingly think there is an endless pot of gold at Jervois. You are dreaming if you think someone like Vick would get anywhere near $600 at the Bluds...and if players ring Sam asking for ridiculous amounts of money he doesnt give them a second look.

I think people should give some credit to the club and Sam for being able to attract players...

Dutchman I agree whole heartedly that being able to recruit is one thing, getting the right guys that stay as they have is another.

What would someone like Vick get up there?

Hard to say BJ. I know some players wanting to come to Jervois have asked for 400+ and been told its too much. He might be able to get more at other River Murray clubs.

well if players at imps are getting 500 a game, then vick would easily be worth an extra hundred.

the jervois story is an interesting one.
sure the players enjoy it there, who wouldnt after winning 4 in a row. but you cant seriously believe they all play there for a free six pack after the game? they gots to be getting a lot more than that. just depends on who you talk to though
before they won all their flags they were just a mid strength club so all the recruits went there for some reason initially? $$

Maybe we should move this chat to RMFL forum?

Of course they dont play for a six pack Floataboy. I'm just telling you $600 is out of the question at Jervois.

I can also tell you that a couple of players from the city came to Jervois and played for nothing this year, just to play with mates. It does depend who you talk to. Most people wouldnt have a clue about how much players at Jervois are getting, its not exactly a discussion point at the club.

But why would you knock back 600 a game in a team like Jervois?

Also, id say 600 a game wouldnt be offered to play at jervois. what do you think about this Dutchy?

You make Jervois sound like the holy grail of football in s.a.! Any real footballer worth his salt would not bother playing in such a substandard league. Jervois is just a haven for egotistical, money hungry footballers who dont want to work hard for team success. The old 'big fish in a small pond' syndrome is live and well down in cow dung land. Do you honestly believe Jervois would even make the 8 in southern?

If anything, Mahoney will be making it easier for the Emus to win five in a row! He has received calls from players in other teams in the SFL!

The decision for Vick to stay in the SFL will not be money orientated. Everyone knows he doesnt play for the coin...its more about location, location because of work and living up there.

HAHA doesnt this belong in the comedy section, you must have tripped over your clogs and bumped your head Dutch. You are truly full of shite.

Dutchman, i will back your comments 100 percent. Jervois do not pay massive amounts of money. They get players that wanna play with mates. The league might not be that great but im sure that it will get talked about over time about how they won 4 flags in a row maybe even 5 or more we will have to see.

No offence Dutchman but emus probably would beat jervois their a great team. The emus could have anyone coach them and win at this stage of the clubs career. I was told the under 14's coach could do it, doesnt say much for the current coach does it. He should take it while he can, dont think many other clubs would want him anyway.

Rubbish!!

I can't comment on what's happening these days but I can assure you that in '02 and '03 Jervois were offering $500+ to get guys to play there. That is massive $$ for a club less than an hour from town. They may spread it a little thinner these days but their total player payment would be huge.

Nice one Hacksville...i've just woken up and smelt the tulips...

Dont want to work hard for team success? hmmm...won the last four flags...last two flags came from behind by big margins to win the game...hmmm...you're starting to show who is exactly full of shite...

Everyone knows how hard it is to win a GF. So much work goes into it on and off the field throughout the course of a season, and GF's arent won without working hard. Your comments are true comedy!

Egotistical and money hungry you say? Sounds like Hacksville has some issues. Maybe you should head to the psychology forum...

Not sure if Jervois would make the 8 in Southern. Most of the Jevois boys would admit that. They might sneak in with a few more recruits :)

And yes, Morphett Vale would smash Jervois...just like they did to every other club over the last four years...

Jervois may not beat Teams like Mvale. But teams at the bottom end of the 8 arent exactly SFL div 1 teams are they! Lonsdale and noarlunga. jervois would match with. So i honestly believe Jervois would make the 8.

Gee Insider your sources must be spectacular, thanks for the latest down at Emu land. Honestly give it a spell, Steve Hill has done a superb job at Morphett Vale, even when taking the young B grade side to flags with Pottsy at the helm Steve was a very active assistant coach, when Pottsy moved on it was the obvious choice. He could not have done anymore at MV than he has done. Not too mention his assistant role with the association team. Having said that nothing wrong with Dave Levins (U/14 coach if you didn't know), i am sure he will coach the club at a senior level in the coming years. TO say anyone could coach them is a cheap shot and a cop out, that my friend is utter shite, whoever told you "Budgie" could coach the A's obviously shares the same intellect level as yourself...

I agree with you here Hills, surely a 4 time premiership team from another comp would make our final 8, after all it gets pretty thin after 6th position.
