Pretty good going on that Edwardstown rumour Huddo - considering there is a whole post dedicated to it and has been for weeks.

OSB Lions wont have an oval in two years/hackham have got an oval........ 10 team Div 1 comp in the SFL will be competitive down to the bottom

OSB/Lonsdale will definately not be losing their oval in two years. A decision has been made to keep the high school open

I have received a letter confirming that Edwardstown will be moving to the SFL next year as long as the SFL and Edwardstown come to an agreement on a couple of conditions.

It all points to two Divisions.

The only true way that the SFL can prove to Edwardstown (if the aforementioned is true, of course) that they can make the league more competitive at senior level from the best side to the "worst" is to create two competitive divisions, whether they be 8-6, 8-8 or whatever.

Does anyone get the feeling that football now has two "silly seasons" - it used to be October through to February on a player-oriented theme. More and more, we seem to have club-themed conversations about moving leagues from June to November. Or is it just me?

Saw this email today Huddo and the EFC board has definately recommended a move to the sfl. It said the sfl has agreed to terms in regard to fixing the competitiveness of the league. This means one of 2 things 2 divs or teams booted/leave ??

Also said the the sfl board have agreed to the A, B and u 18 teams playing sfl while the 14/ 16 etc play amatuers next year and will be phased into sfl by 2009/10.

Seems the sfl is bending over backwards for them and also heard very strong rumour in regards to Blackwood entering.

Surely the league wouldnt relegate teams for Blackwood as im sure they would NOT make the 8 in sfl.

I am another who has seen the e mail document and while the 9 delegates were in agreeance there is a strong push from some within the group to squash the move based on the fact that they want to see Edwardstown stay and play in the highest competition they possibly can- i don't think the deal is done and dusted- there may be some fireworks with this move yet to come!!

I bagged you as your support for the fat bastards comments were directed at me you idiot - best you go have a little nap and a nice glass of breast milk...

Lova - do you really visit gayameaturefootylovers websties? Thats kind of weird but whatever floats your boat. The way you and girth follow each other in and out of threads must make you feel popular however your leading the kid astray.

I will repeat for you too toss bags!
Edwardstown players currently in the A'Grade may look to leave the club to play decent footy rather than join the SFL with the club. By this I mean continue playing Div 1! From here you have bought up GSFL etc yet you have both stated previously on the SFL thread that everyone can have an opinion - does that mean only when it agrees with yours?
Grow up boys! This is an open forum where everyone can voice there opinions on everything! You too are not the beholders of the SFL thread and all things SFL. Best you check your actual importance level as you are clearly attempting to bat above your averages.

My simple opinion is that townies may be losing more than they gain from the move, if it were a div 3,4,5 club then I could possibly see why a move would be warranted. Townies have good numbers, coin, junior are in a good division as where a lower division club may not have all those things going for it. End of the day it will all turn out in the wash.

Id be more interested to hear from anyone at Townies on there ideas, thoughts of the move?????

Finally something i'll have to agree with you on Footymad, any opinion you have is quite simple... Isn't it...

Sounds like it's all moving along well though. The League has made a bold statement saying that they plan to make the league more competitive (they've said that for 3 years with no result as yet)

Be interested to see how they go about it! - Relegation is the only way.

Pretty sure that if your A grade coach and your President want something then it's likely to happen.

Do Edwardstown really have a Board of Directors and not a Committee?

The sub committee that recomended the move th the sfl included representatives from, sponsors, efc trust fund, past players, senior players, juniors, supporters, chairman and president.
That then went to the board who voted unanimously in accepting it.
Sounds like a done deal to me as long as the sfl can keep up its end of the bargain

What happen's if all the current teams stay, Edwardstown come's in, and the SFL couldn't get another club to come in, do they go a 15 team comp with a bye or an 8 & 7 comp with a bye in Div 2.
Heard that the SFL would only go to 2 div's if they were both 8 team div's.

I believe the thought of 2 divisions has been dead and buried a long time ago.. There have been pages and pages on the SFL website.. The consensus is that it will not happen under any circumatances....

So why let them in then if it is going to bring a bye into the comp ?

Fair enough Chucks, Maybe Hackham have already told the SFL that they won't be around next year.

That would be unfortunate. I would rather see Hackham survive and play in C Grade until such time as they are strong enough to play A Grade again.

how do you propose they do that? If they only aim to play C grade they aren't going to attract quality players or juniors why would a kid goto Hackham to play on a sunday when there are 13 other clubs in the league that play on saturdays. I'm as much for tradition as anyone and I hate seeing clubs merge or fold but Hackham have pulled out once and their current side clearly indicates they haven't been able to fix any of the problem!
