Emus
Brighton
Valleys
Porties
Edwardstown
Cove
Reynella
Does it really matter? Will lose first week!

Surely not in that order?

Why Not? what have i got wrong?

Well considering Cove dominated last year, what reason have you got for putting them 6th?

i think they will make the 8. after all they were a div2 saafl side. as for being certainties that cant be judged until they have played the top 3-4 sides like the m/vales, cove, brighton and reynella/happy valley ( couldnt split these 2) it shall be an interesting year though. would be better for the whole leauge if they were bringing juniors but obviously the SFL like making things hard for the clubs with juniors sending them all over the place.

Do Towns only play the top 4-5 sides once? If this is the case, the soft draw could boost them a place or 2 up the ladder.

Well they rely on to few and lack depth! Gill older, vick has had operations, ramsey slow and getting slower, baker gone. They have 1 ruckman he might even retire that leaves the worst ruckman in the comp Size!

The only thing I like so far about any of your posts Kart Horse is your name....thats up there with the best I'd say. As for Cove there is no doubts they are the real deal and will have another solid season but agree alot of other sides can change anything on their day.

Rely on too few and lack depth ?? That's the description offered for the side that beat Morphett three times and made them look silly in the Grand Final.
Don't think I agree with you KH !

Top 3
Cove - Premiers in 2009 and not alot of talk of players leaving or new players. Will be the bench mark in 2009 and for quite some time to come
Townies - Come from a strong div 2 in the SAAFL and with a few recruits will be right there
M Vale - Might just fall away a little but still easily one of the top 3 chances. Still a very classy side on its day, capable of taking it out again in 2009

Next 4 ( no order)
Porties - recruited strongly again with a few kids that could finally learn to break open games of there own back. The closest team to the top 3. Have the best coach in the SFL.
Brighton - Could find a new coach a bit of a blessing. Might be just what they need to push further in the finals. Will win a few against the top 3 sides but will be in consistent
Reynella - Lost some big names and will find it hard to replace. Milo will shoulder a lot of the burden to kick winning scores, may be another year older and a bit harder to find the footy with the lack of class out of the midfield. Miles ahead still of the bottom teams but may strugle against the top sides
Happy Valley - The quiet achievers. Never seem to talk up there chances but always deliver during the season. will be another successful year in terms of wins but will need to recruit a few extras towards the start of the season to push the big 3

Daylight (no disrespect here and no order)
Flaggies - May be the best of the rest. Are capable of being very good or very bad. will win around 7-10 games
Shoes - Will be around the mark again. Draw is a little better for them this year. Very good midfield and a few blokes that can kick goals for them, just need their defence to stand up.
M. park - The most inconsistent side in the SFL. Beat reynella in 2008 then a few weeks later got rolled by christies. Because of this will be in the battle for 8 but will miss out.
Saints - A lot of work going on behind the scenes. They have some young kids that can play footy just need a few of the older heads to keep there cool and they will be right around the 8th mark. Im sure a fit andrew bachmann will make a difference to the side and cutting away of some dead wood will only make christies a better place to be. There place in the top 8 will depend is scotty brown plays for christies and not west adelaide. Have a very astute president and a coach that knows how to get the best out of his players.

Bottom 4 ( Again no disrespect intended)
Aldinga - Have lost maybe the best center half back in 2008 and most of there starting midfield from 2008. I think they may win 5 games for the year but still think they are a little off the mark to make a run at the top 8 just yet
Marion - Will struggle again this year and will only win around 5 games for the year. Might have made the mistake of employing a playing coach with a team that struggles. Think you need a coach who can have 100% focus on everything thats going on around him and not having to worry about playing aswell.
Lonsdale - Will struggle and may fall away a little more again. Would like to see them recruit a few players but would need to recruit 3 key forwards and 3 key backs to make the push to the top of the bottom teams.
Hackham - Will win 1 game in 2009 and will be better. Will make small steps but just need to remember it will take 5-7 years to be competetive again not 2-3. It will come with the next generation of players.

Not a bad review.
The big question is...WHO WILL HACKHAM BEAT

I think they will beat either lonsdale or marion.

Flagstaff or Twisties to finish eight; When will the bushpigs live up to their potential? Even with the mail on the shoes and rams, I can't see their "new" sides meshing in a year. Lonsdale, Saints, Aldinga are two to three years away if all goes well, hackham just trying to improve.

Although I think Reynella will finish between fifth and seventh, I wouldn't be surprised if they drop to eighth.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Based on when you saw them last in 2006???
A lot has changed over the course of the last 2 years [39 games]

Edwardstown do play Morphett Vale twice and also another two finalists twice so not sure where this "soft draw" spin is coming from?

I know i have been away a while but didnt Marion only miss 8th last year by 3 goals on percentage?

Surely they havent lost that many players to allow a 30 goal turnaround from last year?

Will be a long season for the Rams with no new faces on board.

Cleary it's far to early to be trying to guess this, apart from the top 3 of cove, m/vale, townies, a couple of big injuries to any team could have them missing out on the 8

Edwardstown were ranked seventh in the draw. They will play top seven sides 8 times; all side ranked 1-6th play the top seven 9 or 10 times. Plainly stated, this will give you two "easy" games, based on previous years form. Not that it happens every year, but it has been influential in sides making or missing the double chance or finals.

Edwardstown should have at least been ranked fourth for the draw given they were a good Division 2 side last season by all accounts. This is yet another poor decision by the administrators.

Well who thinks a Div 2 side should rightfully play us twice, when Morphie Parks only play us once...?

Emus - some good players returning will ofset those that have left
Cobras - should be up there.Good side but can they handle being the hunted ?
Porties - my tip as the big improver this season
Brighton - always around the mark with their juniors coming thru
Reynella - put my neck out here and say they will be super fit and playing team footy which will be a first for a while
Towns - their first season might be tougher than they think.
Valleys - not sure why i have them this low, just think they are not as good as teams above but could surprise me
Flaggies - alot of their young players have now played over 50 games of A grade and i believe they have picked up a few
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!
