In all fairness I do not think any team was any where near full strength. What it does though is show how how much clubs have depth. SHOC's were ordinary and definatly impressed with Mt.Lofty. SHOC's will get better but it must be a concern to the heirachy that they will play sides just as good and better than Lofty week in/week out. Guess we will see, don't fire up SHOC supporters, prove me wrong ;)

You already mentioned that. Mate I hope FP win it being an SAAFL supporter, but i'm telling you Valleys were no where full strength either.

Point taken, there is no doubt they are going to find it tough against teams like Lofty and Div 1 sides who have a big chq book. But like i said its early Feb lets not get too carried away, we have beaten lofty in a trial away before when we took in seriously, as they have beaten us in a trial when we didnt take it seriously. Im sure every team wont be at full strength, its ammos and sometimes players who are proven A graders dont give a toss about playing in them......however the 3k will be nice!! ;)

Exactly. Better to be playing a game against good opponents than running around an oval.

Pistola sank five, including two in the first three minutes. Like everything else about the Mountain Devils, so great to watch !!
Really looking forward to watching them in action again this week.

Sorry just quoting myself from a post I put up on the Hills Football League thread, thought it may be relevant to this one too.

'Just another word on Friday's 20/20 comp- Trial game banter can almost become a dick meausring contest as teams 'boast' about how under strength they are compared to the competition- i'll weigh in with the following- Mt Lofty were missing from their 2008 premiership side the following players: Burch (b&f), M Stapleton (vc), Gordon (leading goal kicker), Nielson, O'Connor, Davies, O Temme, J Temme, Baldock and Cutting of course, who really doesn't count as he will not be playing in '09 (sorry if I missed anyone). That is almost half a side.'

Yes the players that played for Mt Lofty were fair dinkum, as that is the way we approach every game we play no matter if it is a final, a trial game, a 20/20 game or a game of hop scotch. If SHOC's A grade treat it as a mickey mouse comp i would see that as a problem.

Wouldnt mind having a look at this setup, what time do these games kick off? Also would like to see what all the fuss is about with Mt Lofty.

Guarantee you'll see a magnificent side in action. Saw them for the first time at the Valley last year and was immediately converted.
Absolutely sensational to watch --- pity they play in a far off League.
Love to see them in battle with Willunga.
