Morphies walk into grand final ... MV 17-10, Porties 4-16.

Porties kicked 10 points i think before they managed their first goal in the third quarter.

Hardly a challenge all day, would be difficult to find more than one or two porties players who beat their opponent. Not because Morphies were too good, but simply Porties were that bad and werent willing to run or make contests.

Dont get me wrong Morphies did all the right things and forced Porties into errors, but Porties didnt even look like a threat from the first bounce.

Morphies: tackled well, made front position when marking, held the marks, gave the first option, ran & ran with support runners, made 2nd & 3rd efforts. Just did all the little things well!

Didn't Porties shoot themselves in the foot They were dominate early but missed "easy" Goals Morphies straight back down the other end and Straight through Left just after the half Manhood and Fidock only 2 that did anything for the Ports. They never really looked in the Hunt rather eventless match. Good to see that Brighton got up thats a great result for them but seeing what MV forwards did to a good Porties backline cant see them getting up. Stranger things have happened though

Cant see Brighton getting over the Emus.
Watching today they have 4-5 good players ie, King, Simper, Tucker, Johnstone and after that it gets pretty thin. Guys that definitely have a crack and the passion in the 3 quarter time huddle u could certainly see they wanted it!
Morphett Vale jus have every section of the ground covered, Strong forward line, Dominant rucks and quality on ballers and top class backline.
Finals are a funny game and anything can happen on the day but Morphett Vale for me!

Brighton were too good for us on the day they were hungrier for the ball in the second half.Conditions on the day did play a major part in the result but all credit goes to the bombers.

Where to for Reynella from here..?? Lost the past 2 GF's to Morphies and lose to Brighton yesterday. Arguably had there best chance last year and fell short, kept most of it together this year and with the inclusion of Butcher and Smith who barely qualified gave it everything. If there is any truth to what's being written on their own forum could have quite an exodus after this season. Back to the drawing board again for the winefly's. Similarly to Cove they just do not have the cattle to win when times are at their toughest. Reckon they could've pushed Morphies next week.

Well done to the young Brighton team, this weeks game will be a cracker. Both games this year were close and hardly fought contests, lets just hope the weather does impact on the day too much.

See you there Franky... Here's hoping for the same result in 2004...

What a brilliant result yesterday......not sure if it was the big upset that everyone seems to think it was.....the boys have more than held their own against the so called "better" sides all year......maybe these "better" sides can take a leaf out of the Bombers handbook......with belief and a shit load of want and desire you give yourself a huge chance......i reckon the MV boys woudl have preferred to meet the Winnes instead of the Bombers.....they now know that they need 4 quarters of switched on footy.....

Fair comment re the bombers pretty thin after 4-5 players........i would have thought that no team woudl make a GF without 100% of the team playing their part.....sometimes the bigger names take the spotlight but make no mistake the lessor name bombers have held their own...just ask Milo yesterday....played on a 20 year old....and i know who the honours went to.....and the good thing about these young lads is they have no scars from the emus.......GAME ON........

Baby Brighton Bombers fantastic win, didnt give up and kept on running. Big upset considering the 'Talent' Reynella has available. There was a few rumours going around that the Fly's had a wager on the GF to beat MV... you would have though getting there was first on the agenda.
MV should have too much experience for the big one should be a cracker though.. big oval might suit the Bombers run to give them a chance..

Reynella have a wager every year with the Morphett Vale FC... seems they just like donating money to the Emu's. Should be a great game saturday, good to see the Bombers get there... they might actually threaten the Emu's in a GF for the first time in years.

Hotdogs ur exactly right u need 21 contributors and in finals the cream rise to the top and if the bombers better players can inspire the younger players like they did Sunday ya just never know. That bloke on Milo was only 20 he was a solid boyand nullified his influence. Conditions were tricky tho so not a great day for a key forward as there midfield certainly didnt have the skill level to hit him up on a lead.

Sorry Fly, cant agree with you about the conditions playing a part.
I think lack of heart, desire and not knowing what a winning feeling is would be more accurate. Maybe you are new to the club, but Reynella simply do not know how to win when it comes to the crunch.
Back to the drawing boards mate, at least you will have a new squad to chose from next year if all the rumours about your players are true.
Well done Bombers...bring on Saturday! The two best sides are meeting this week which is a great result for the comp.

I did not know this was an annual occurrence, in that case they would have been better off keeping the $$ and giving to some of the Reynella players of last few years to keep the teams together..

settle down dutchy and others. yes, they lost this yesterdays prelim to a better side on the day! they werent good enough. but what about the last 2 x prelims. yes they lost MV in the big one, but MV are a champion team - no debating that. They will win easily next week, as much as i would love to see the bombers get up.

if anyone hasn't played to their potential over the last couple of years its Cove and Happy Valley (especially COVE) - not Reynella. think about it!

Absolutely KEYDEFENDER, that money would be better spent on those players who are more the local types, who stick it out every year, put up with crap because they don't know any different. Well I think the straw finally broke the camels back yesterday because they'll be a different outfit next year. Sounds like an exodus at the RFC.

word out of Reynella in yesterday's B grade game is both threadgold's have been reported and it is likely dan will get games but brett will get off ,we'll wait and see what the SFL does on this one. reynella will drop back White, smith and a couple others to B grade next week, will it unsettle the side that has been playing really well this year under bomber?

Great win yesterday HotDog's, agree that your club is well and truely deserving of a grand final shot. looks like Tony Francis has done wonders done there this year and the club is on the right track.........I bet you wish you could run out with them next saturday vs the Emus.

Mate...the bristles on the back of the neck where certainly standing proud in the last few minutes of the match....any time you go to the show is a great experience.....and would love to put the demons of 04 to rest.....the great thing about this young team is although they aren't talent laden......the vast majority would lick the mud of the ball....which has what has got them through.....

Agree he was effective as Johnstone. Now Reynella have thrown away another 3k, maybe he wont stay there next year and go to another club...have the bombers got the cash? Butcher would be worth it..
