i cant think of many players in the current M/Vale A grade who did not play juniors there so i doubt it would bother them. Saying that i dont think there are any SFL clubs at the moment that primarily rely on imports so i cant see it levelling up the SFL in the immediate future.

Once the SANFL decide what it is they are going to call the SFL (country or metro league) you might find it wont effect you is my original thoughts as the pts system wont be introduced to the SAAFL as far as I am aware.

What is your thoughts on Porties getting around $10k clear for the grand final (bar takings & food)....is this an unfair advantage for the other clubs....i'm sure any other club would love that type of fundraising event...would certainly help secure additional players via the extra money....I do agree that Noarlunga oval is a disgrace - what about the bay oval ?.....it is certainly a lot better than noarlunga.....i gotta say the issues that were faced at Porties where disgraceful..through lack of police or not.....and the reputation the league copped was pretty bad....I even copped a sly one from a MV supporter at the quarter time huddle in 04......[/quote]

Hey Franky, as always great to hear from you.. Some valid points... Like moving the GF to Noarlunga, Porties receiving the royalties from GF day every year was a rort, it should have be either evenly distributed to all clubs each year or worked on a roster "hosting" basis.

Personally i dont like it coming in. And FM you are the first person to tell me it is definitely coming into GSFL.
I know that some clubs are better off than others but how are Yankalilla, Myponga and these areas that dont have successful junior programs, or a big base of people going to compete with places like Strahalbyn, Mclaren, Willunga etc that have a number of kids in the area.
But that has nothing to do with Southern.
Will it work in Southern i dont know, the league doesnt seem to recruit that heavily. The stronger sides rely on locals anyway with a couple of recruits so maybe more a publicity stunt than anything.

Thought this topic was finished with.
If a player asked for an amount that doesn't mean a club agreed, at any rate he was refused by Flaggies so who really gives a shit. His actually best mates with Tom Blum from Encounter, figures are out of proportion for a player changing clubs mid year, thats a ridiculous amount.

Youve got to be kidding me dont you. both teams are good enough to play in the GF. but the crowd comment is way off the mark. Those two teams dont have the greatest follwing crowds going around. especially brighton. you mite get some interested observers from other clubs but "pull a crowd" more like youd have to "rent a crowd".
Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.

What about a G.F at Shoe park but dont allow cars in, may be Noarlunga could hire a tempory grand stand and Team managers and Trainers could still drive in and no problem for ambulance access etc.
same rules as South with no alchohol allowed in but there would be heaps of atmospehre - What do you reckon.

Now Lova......as with the Pavlova you are certainly out of date and no longer the flavour of the month......Brighton will pull a huge crowd come the GF.....quoting a great coach of ours from the past in Mark Naley....why perform in front of 200 people - but put 50,000 in front of me and i'll put on a show.....same thing with the Bomber followers......give them something to cheer about and they'll be about in their thousands.....otherwise they will be sipping chardy's at home.....in pink sweaters mind you.....

Sorry hotdogs got a feeling you are getting your crowds mixed up with when you play at home and theres bowls, lacrosse and rugby on. All those people arent there to watch you guys. You still do have some finer looking females than other clubs thats about it.

If This points system comes in where to for Clubs like Lonsdale, Hackham, Aldinga (ATM) Morphies? They have no/limited juniors and how can they improve quickly like the league wants if their limited to their recruits. What would the league class as "Local" Marion, Morphies, Brighton all in each others back pockets. If a player lives closer to Marion but plays for Brighton is he a Marion local or these "imports"? Fair to say this is a decent idea for Country sides with a greater distance but for Metro its going to be to hard to manage.

And by Memory the last fights were started by Harnas from MV walking into the Valley supporters because he was still crying about losing the 18s GF Big girl then it went out of hand bunch of People with nothing to do with anyone taking it all out of hand. More police under covers easy all under control.

I agree TL, Harness is a big girl... Not sure he's worthy to be spoken about on this forum though, so please refrain from naming him in the future..
