By reading the initial report it sounded as though they were assaulted as they left the clubrooms. If they'd parked at Hallett Cove Train station would it still be viewed as 'leaving the clubrooms'?

Agreed- a hefty price to pay for not paying the ($4?) entry fee... Does Sneeza have an official role at Brighton?

Still stand by my point if the perpertrators are proved to be from a certain club though..

Sneeza is Brightons Asst Coach.
I understand what you are saying mattee but if you start pinging clubs for the behaviour of their supporters there will be no clubs left at any level.....even those clean living ones around Flagstaff Hill.

Matee G yes it was once they had left the clubrooms.....however.........the so called perpertrators weren't the ones, from what my sources tell me, who through the first punch......Does this mean Brighton should lose there points as well?????As the first punch was thrown on the complex grounds?????? Your so called perpertrators all through there's off the complex.......
As u can see all to difficult!!!! It should be left to both clubs to sort it out in house and together......It is to difficult for SFL to decide who is in the wrong and who isn't til all sides of the story are out.....and we all know that will never happen.

LOL VV.

I was actually referring to if the so called perpertrators were involved with the club in an official capacity (eg players, officials). Supporters of any club have their feral element..

Jono I dont expect the SFL to get to the bottom of it, but i was of the understanding that Sturt CIB were looking at the incident.

And as both of you have discussed, should be a belter this week between Cove and the Emus.

I'm new to the site, and i noticed there has been a fair bit of talk of the incident at the cove last weekend. i am involved at the club and can safely say the people responsible are not involved in the club, just a bunch of blokes from the area who come to games now and then and sit up in the paddock. never noticed any trouble from them before, draper must of said something to stir them up, although i also heard he threw the first punch, never the less it shouldn't of happened and it tarnishes the clubs regained respect and new image.

Seems we should stop playing footy and start team boxing, would that make everyone happy?

Now while there is no way i would condone this sort of violence it must be said that the Drapers had alot of bad karma coming their way ...... they have thrown alot of cheap shots over the years but no one deserves this sort of outcome. :(
I am reliably informed that he will never play again and will never regain full vision in one eye and will need 6-8 operations over the coming years. Also heard that the assailent was a pure meathead who has been banned from Cove before so it is unfortunate that it tarnishes that clubs name. Unfortunately i think the Bombers chances have gone out the window with this incident too and it will be interesting to see what if anything comes of this either legally or from the S.F.L.
Dont know for sure how the incident started but heard that the car window was smashed by this loose cannon while Draper was in the car ......does anyone know if it was because of an incident during the game ???? :?:

Unlikely hacksville, it wasn't that sort of game. Draper didn't have a big one that day either.

While I have have been critical of some of the Draper's actions in the past, I by no means would have wished this outcome on anybody.
Sure that there will be plenty more on this in the coming weeks.

Noarlunga def Marion by 17pts
Morphett Vale def Cove by 21pts
Port Noarlunga def Lonsdale by 35pts
Christies Beach def Southern Hawks by 275pts
Brighton def Happy Valley by 15pts
Flagstaff Hill def Morphetville Park by 170pts
Reynella def Aldinga by 208pts

Cove suffered first defeat for the year but will still finish top one would think. Was anyone at the game, what sort of crowd did it pull?
Good standard game?

Interesting finals series coming up this year with a few teams that could quite possibly take the title.

the sfl committiee is as weak as water. Both clubs should have been asked an answer questions and put on a bond, that any more trouble a heavy fine will be applied. this has gone on for to long in this league with ths sfl turning a blind eye on and off the field. i have been involved with a sfl club and at the moment wonder why any other club would get involved in this league.

Why are they weak as water gossip? What action could they have taken considering it wasn't on an SFL ground or complex and the perpertrator's weren't involved in the SFL as a player, club member or SFL memeber!!!!!! It was in the hands of the police who from what i have read have taken action.......So to sit there and accuse the SFL of doing nothing is completely wrong, they had no grounds to take action on!!!!!! And i doubt very highly that there is no one that wants to come in our league.....It is one of if not the strongest competitions outside the A1. It has some very professional clubs and people involved, along with some terrific footballers.

things like this have happened time and time again in southeren league. cove knew of the people involved in fact have been band from the club. this is not the 1st time this year that this problem has happened at cove, i have been told about it so i would think cove and league would also know. that is one reason why players told not to park there. This is not trying to have a go at cove, as all teams have supporters that at times get out of control. i agree this has been a good league but over the last 5 years the standard has dropped away due to to many teams. Many good players have left the league because of the behind the play hits and when a player is reported which is hardly ever no real punnishment. anyway things will not change but i do still like watching games but dont go as often as i used to.

Qwerty Noarlunga with there effort on Saturday will probably not win any more games this year
A lot of money laid out for not much return Injuries have caused quite a bit of this but seem to be playing with no heart or passion. It will probably come down to the Christies games where they will be fighting for eighth spot

still thinking Noarlunga paid out big money do you??

I told you at the start of the year that they were not and i dare say there ladder position shows that!

Watched briefly on the weekend for a 1/4 and a bit before leaving, yep they are struggling at the moment and from what i was told have had problems with injuries and blokes missing all year. On the weekend no Genovese, Crane and a couple of others who have been in and out all year.

With a bit of luck they may scrape into the 8 but it doesn't look to good now with the draw they have coming up playing all the top sides again unlike some of the teams they will be fighting with for that position. Even if they make it they will not be able to go further than the first week i doubt as the top five are 10-15 goals better than most bellow them.

First time i watched a game at Lonsdale on the weekend and didn't realise that they had to get changed in the high school gym??

Cove got a bit of a touch up on the weekend are porties the dark horse in the finals, were very unlucky a few years ago when they lost a prelim to brighton after beating morphies by 5 or 6 goals in a qually.

Tigers43,

Coma played last year at Noarlunga also and i think he had some hand surgery a month or so ago and has been struggling with that for most of the year.

Tedmanson from Port Noarlunga suspended for two games for a non show at Southern Districts
Even though he had notified them two weeks previous that he was unavailable.
This lad has given tremendous service to SFL and did not deserve this dished out to him especially as that a precedent has never been set by other players and clubs.
Over 85% of GSFL players pulled out and RMFL players as well
This was decided on last night by SFL Directors without a hearing from PNFC or player concerned after a leter of protest wslodged by Cove F.C. Who will now have to be squeeky clean.
