Nah i didnt hear anything different. i was discussing the matter on here last week.

And by the sounds of it, the young lad that played well in the last half was from South 19's (correct me if im wrong) If he kicked a few he contributed in a big way to win the game. Id be devo if that was the case and i was from cove, thats all.

sorry there TL, was wearing my heart on my sleeve and thought you were doing the same. can see what you were saying now. I saw the game also and he was pretty impressive. especially for a 17-18 year old. as an emu supporter wouldnt mind seeing a bit mor of him at wheatsheaf rd. but pretty sure hell have a crack at ressies at south by the end of the year.
Personally i thought small bayly was the difference. lifted the emus throughout the whole day. both played well tho.

Yeah both were good. There was that small patch were he took about 3 contested marks around that far pocket from the club rooms that really put us behind the 8 ball that i thought was the killer difference Bayly sneaks up though kicked 7 before i think anyone from our side had noticed always was going to be a gun that guy though.

He was a morphies junior before he went to south. so hes still a morphie boy. I mite be bias but I think the emus would have won regardless of whether he played or not. surely cove couldnt use him as an excuse for losing.

Find it hard that he snuck up on you guys. If ando was any sort of coach he would have seen that N.Bayly has kicked 4 and 7 in the two previous games. surely that warrants being watched closely the following week. I think he will see a bit more attention in the last half of the season.

I wouldnt say devo I think it shocked alot of people when this 17 yr old just explodes and turns the game on its head. Thing is like people said they have better and more experienced players to replace him. Love to know what you think here lova or who saw the game Josh Vick do you think he was good enough for the 3 votes regardless the result 4 goals a truck load of possessions he seemed the dominate player on the gorund other then the other 2.

I thought he would had got more attention. Heater would had played on him but pulled out 5 10 minutes before the game had an 18 boy come up after playing in the 18s. And no way we say that that No. 2 was the reason we lost M/Vale had winners just about everywhere deserved the result.

I dunno if they are using it as an excuse because im not in regular contact with anyone from cove. I thought Mvale would win too. id be devo if my team lost because a player from south kicked well and won the game. Mind you my argument was that Mvale didnt need any player/s back.

Vick did play well especially in the last quarter so it would be fresh in the umpies mind but if a player "turns the game on its head" surely that means the 3 votes must be with that player. My 3 would have been 3 votes carroll 2 votes bayly and 1 vote vick. but would you expect anything else from me TL. I think the outcomeshould play a part of the desicion of the votes. Bayly got plently of it/ kicked more goals/ and "led" his side to victory. having said that Vick is a more known player to the umpires and mite have just jagged the 3 votes over a 1 game player and a juniorish bayly. Will ceratinly put a mental note on this one and watch with interest at mail medal night.

What I said was directed at hills there TL. i knew you werent using no.2 as an excuse. you sound like a supporter that can appreciate other teams. It was moreso a question directed to hills.

Didnt know heater was out. thats a big in for you guys when hes back. hes a big playmaker for cove. any other out.

Just Heater out altough Weidermann was crock and it did show. Heater was an odd one suited up strapped, rubbed and just before we were about to finish our warm up pulled out. May miss the next couple so he is 100% right for the next lot of tough games after Dingys and Roos think its Porties after that. And i think that your Votes may be right but who knows how umpires think sometimes.

saying 'I can see why YOUR club can't win pressure matches, won't man up, playing stupid football, you play russian roulette football.'

Might be the standard of his coaching too, probably thought it would all pan out ok without him having to think. Then when it goes wrong its the players fault. Surley the coach has to take some of the blame for not being accountable. Not hard to send a runner out telling the players to shut down the opposition. Not a coaches (*)hole if you ask me.

Think you heard wrong didnt tear strips he was as calm as ever just seemed very frustrated did mention Russian roulette but said that players chased kicks and played Bees to a honeypot. Never said YOUR club cant win pressure games said that it wasnt a 10, 20 goal win our club needs against these top sides. Its just a win 1 point, 2 points, 3 points is all it could take to turn things around. Hes right we just need to break the duck and get that confidence that we can match it with M/Vale.

We are to unaccountable and said that we need to learn from them how they run hard both ways and that our disposal cost us as well they were cleaner and we missed 4 or 5 easy goals. He was annoyed it seemed that it was an oppurtunity missed for now.

Sorry boys, been off the phorums for the last week or so. Sounds like i missed a good game of footy on the weekend between Cove and Emus.

I heard that Morphies dont have many talls down back? Swooper hinted at some weakness in the backlines for Morphies and 'The Lova' said Gaskin and Smith dominated the Cove forwards, but those blokes arent giants.

Do Morphies lack depth down back, especially in the talls department?

What is the general feel down there about Anderson was he worth the effort or do you think Porter would have been in the same position right now with that team?

As mentioned by someone previously I also heard the 3/4 time speech and was unimpressed to say the least. he wasnt "angry" or tearing strips off anyone. he basically just went on about how good morphies were and how it was no wonder they were getting beaten. then went on and said that they wouldnt beat morphies in the finals. although he was probably just venting it didnt sound like the right thing to say. after deflating the players I was expecting him to then turn to positives and reinflate the side but instead just read out the team and left. Wasnt very insipirational from my point of view. especially in a blockbuster against the reigning premier with a chance (small) of winning.

Looking at the draw and after dingys and roos. the cove have a huge test against the cocklies. Ive seen Morphies play both cove and porties and I think all porties will have to do is put some pressure on cove and there mite be a bit of an upset there.
I know there a couple of games out but I can see the cocklies grabbing fourth spot by the end of the year. I reckon they can beat cove and bdos in the next month and snatch it from brighton.

P.S. in this comment ive knocked the bombers. this mite bring the very quite "Franky" out from his townhouse. I know it been a bit cold lately but you can only sip so many lattes to warm yourself up.

Think defence is probably the only area of concern for Morphies in the A’s. Gaskin and Smith were real solid on Saturday but if either of them go down then I’m not sure who they could use down the back of the spine?

Not sure if Mexican was having a lend or not about a player coming back from O/S. Pretty sure I know who he is referring to (3 time premiership player I think and most at fullback) If he is keen to play and can get some fitness then that will cover that area of concern.

I was only there until 3/4 time but called in to see a craker first 3 quarters.

I think that Anderson would need to look at some early moves, put Ramsey loose in defence in the first quarter. One of Coves key forwards and didn't kick a goal for the game. Is he still captain? If so, questions about winning pressure games must fall back on leadership. Including Captain and Coach.

Cove looked very good forward of the footy and relied on mistakes by the opostion to capitalise, when your playing the top teir sides there are less mistakes and it's harder to win games. Maybe thats why they struggle with pressure games (games against the top sides).

Only a thought?

Also, a young bloke against grown men for the first time couldn't have been the difference. I'm sure Cove have a key defender in thier back six that could have slowed the bleeding.
