There last 2 weeks would've ended up playing in the dark surely with the amount of time on, 40 minute quarters i would suggest. Will anyone kick 60 against them...??

Flaggies Div 2 Record stands at 65-30 you'd think that Morphies would top that unless they played a whole heap of 18's or C graders I'd still imagine that they'd top 50 odd. I think if they played at close to their best side 70 would be a realistic target.

Can the league just end all of this what is anyone achieving from playing games like this? Are they able to stop Hackham from continuing on like this Mid season? Maybe they should join C grade now and see if they could salvage a few wins this year.

I think that there is a saturation point to actually how many goals a team can kick in a game of footy... I think that 60 might be the mark at the moment, you would need a lot of things going right to acheive this, kicking straight and not missing opportunities in front of goal being a major one, this is what cost Cove earlier in the round. I think they are playing each other at Morphies, small ground might mean more opportunities or it may clog it up a bit, but by the looks of it i'm not sure they will have anyone to stand Pollard, Short, Bayly Brothers or Howell. 70 goals would be a massive ask...
Can't possibly pull them now, too many repurcussions like mail medal votes, percentage and mainly the leading goal scorer, try telling someone like Pollard that he's not going to get the chance to kick 25 goals like the other leading forwards have... More pain to come for the Hawks....

Haven't been down to training for a couple weeks so i'm not sure, when he injured himself it appeared to be more than a month long injury, not sure how his rehab has gone...

My sources out of Wheatsheaf Rd seem to think that Pollard is done for the year something about could play on but at the risk of doing irreparable damage, so he decided to hang them up for the rest of the year and be back in time for pre-season next year! Was said over a few brews so may not be the most reliable source but interesting if true!

Surely if he can play again this year risk or not he would. Hes played in all 3 emu flags and would be pretty keen to have a crack at 4 in a row id say. maybe he mite come back for finals. no point risking anything now.

leading goalkicker is still well up for grabs. who do people think will win it and on how many goals?
What about the mail medal. who do people think?
Would be interested to see petoes odds on both now that the season is almost half over

Lonsdale by 5 points after being over 4 goals down when Marion kicked the first goal of the last quarter.

28 points down half way through the last 1/4. Flaggies nearly did the same to Porties.
How many goals did McEntee kick for Marion? the scores weren't in the Sunday Mail or the messenger.

Word from down Emu land is that with South having the bye this week and the club not being in great form the Panthers are releasing anyone who is not an injury concern or week in week out A grader to local clubs, Dylan Williams wanted to play but is considered an A grade required player, the surprise will more than likely come from Josh Sampson who has been playing A grade the last few weeks but has recently come back from a hammy, so they are allowing him to play to keep his fitness level up, by all reports trained exceptionally well last night...

Any other clubs receiving players back for this weeks games..??

Saw him play against Sturt and wasn't too bad, watch his stats most weeks and seems to hit 15 or more, may be on the edge of a high draft pick may have missed the boat though... Will definately play plenty of league at the worst...

I'd heard there was a few allowed to play was he the only one? Maybe Clay Sampson could lace up the boots for them! Are there that many players out at South that are even aligned to clubs in the SFL anymore most of them are ringins from elsewhere i.e. Iljcesen, Handby, seems it would only be a handful that would have a run.

You can if a player coming back is clearly better then the player they are replacing. Especially if the player can help fix an area of concern…..say defence.

Personally i think this is the SFL's minor round game of the year....They will get plenty down there to watch the game....Cove are just starting to hit some form and anyone who saw there 2nd half against HV on the weekebnd would agree with me....They were awsome kicked 15goals to HV 3 or 4 after half time....
If South release a fringe league player back to M Vale this week surely they also have to release Brad Crabb to Cove who has been playing 2's at CHB or FB all year for South....If this happens i think it is fair...If however, only the M Vale player is released, who, has played league football in the last month then there is something going on ...T Potts influence maybe???

The emu's are a very good group of players, of all the times i've played against them havn't noticed any real weak links, but if swooper knows one, could he let us know? The boys will have to play really well to get past MVale this week, although i agree with jono, they did run all over Valley in the 2nd half last week, it should be a cracker of a game tho, Cove still yet to beat Morphett Vale in any senior grade.

mail medal is picked by umpires so cant see the hard ball getters like mckenzie, brown, bayly, king but they would be my pick at this stage
Umpires will pick players like vick, prescott & bachmann - good smart footballers that stand out - one of those three will win it would be nice if vick won it after last years debacle
You can't beat local footy
