I can guarantee there will be a standalone Christies Beach team in the U/16 comp

Saturday or Sunday?

Does SFL have juniors play at the same venue as seniors each week or is it a different program due to clubs not fielding all sides.

Generally all clubs that have all 5 Saturday sides will play together if playing each other, otherwise it is a bit of a dogs breakfast, with sometimes 2 clubs play each other in 14's or 16's at a neutral venue.

Christies Beach will have the full 5 Saturday teams, each of them standalone (ie not combined teams with other clubs)

It is a clusterf***

The gentleman who puts the program together gets it reasonable considering, but he is dealt a sh*t sandwich

Last season we only had 10 teams each in the U/14 and U/16 comps, yet they needed to fit into a 15 team competition.

Great trial game today between Flaggies and The Shoes at McLaren Oval. Was pretty hot so it gave everyone a real test (including the umps who had done games yesterday). Flaggies got the lollies in the end with some good performances from a few new faces. The Shoes had to use a few B's to make up the A grade numbers so don't take much notice of the end result. Notwithstanding, I think both coaches would have been very happy with the hit out; hard and fast and played in good spirits.

Vikings are fielding a C grade this year.

On another subject - find it very disturbing that a number of clubs are not going to be able to field an 18s side this year. I hear emus are having to combine with Cove and Noarlunga and Aldinga may not even have enough between them for a side. Last count was possibly only 8 or 9 clubs with an 18s team.Very concerning for the future development of those clubs.

Good to hear because every indication was that there would be no Happy Valley team in the C-Grade comp

It was looking like it was going to be:
Brighton
Christies Beach
Cove
Flagstaff Hill

maybe Edwardstown and/or Morphettville Park

Now with Happy Valley it is starting to look like it could be a viable competition

Have heard Happy Valley was beaten comprehensively by Willunga on Saturday. How is Keemy going with the boys? Any major outs for HV?

A's and B's had trial against Willunga but no 18s game so 18s mixed up in senior teams. B's won and A's lost by about 4 goals I reckon. Probably 10 of the starting A grade didn't play and team had 8 18s in the side against a quality opposition. Keamy's first go at throwing team around - some B graders stood up and some didnt in the A grade. Good games to watch.

Willunga a great club - thanks for the run.

Major outs already on the forum but if you are too lazy to go back a few pages - McKenzie, McNamara, Borowski, Raitt, Sugg

Pretty happy with some quality ins :D :D :D
