I did hear that they are signing players on the basis they are "waiting on a major sponsor" if that falls through they actually won't be able to pay players... but they arent telling that to the new players of course... That was whe whisper i got down at the shops yesterday from someone involved at the club...

This should be titled ' disgruntled Ex Aldinga people thread' , more of you can bag the club you walked away from and left for others to fix. The coaches have been given a budget similar to the last few years and have looked at ways of boosting that themselves with additional sponsorship above what the club provides. From what I've heard this is looking good. The Sharks are happy the way things are progressing and are making improvements to the club off field also. Our AGM went for 45 minutes, most people I've seen at one in years, all positions filled without fuss, not one question from the floor for the President's or Treasurers reports (externally audited too). Everyone on the same page and positive about next year. Very stable all round.

Good luck to Aldinga, big task ahead. Good to hear plenty of people jumping on board to help, as that is the most critical element. If the club has a good atmosphere, it attracts players sponsors and supporters to the club. Best of luck to all at Shark Park for 2013.

Settle down PB, I was only stirring with the 15 players signed comment. ;) I have *seen* roughly 15 new faces around the club here and there - have no idea in regards to signings. Retaining the old list is the prerogative inasmuch as it's viable. Everyone talks - you ought to know that. The results'll speak for themselves in time. Everyone knows what Aldinga is, what their situation is. We aren't going to build Rome in a day. As long as we're still going, and we're committed, and we've got people prepared to put in an effort and stay in for the long haul and not pike out halfway through, the rest will follow.

Well said Fisho ! All hail to the hard workers, stay positive :) The development in recent years in fielding teams in all comps has been fantastic ... the foundations are starting to develop, and you just keep building.

I'm very excited about the coming year. :D

Speaking of which - I've spread the word on FB and I've got my business cards up in the bar @ the club, but may as well advertise here too: I'm now the news editor for Aldinga; we're putting out a monthly publication, and any news, gossip, jokes, letters, suggestions, bloody comic strips if that's what floats your boat - basically any sort of writerly material - I WANT IT. I want it like a turtle wants flies, or krill, or whatever the f*** it eats. Hit me up on katehayfordediting@adam.com.au, or send me a message via facebook.com/fishomcspaz. Looking forward to hearing from people.

Seems a bit far fetched but that is the name given for player they met with. Huge asking price... played WAFL last year i believe and struggled and has a lot of family in SA? Prob just another off-season rumour but stranger things have happened!

Leon was runner up in their Best n Fairest last year, so certainly wasnt struggling to get a kick. He is also contracted for 2013, so whoever wants him would need $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

He was linked to playing SANFL last year before choosing WAFL as he his wifes family were here in SA so presuming that is still the case he has ties here.

Last I heard the C grade coach and a few players heading to Flinders Uni Crabs (div 7, possibly div 8 2013). Big Bang would know more but lives down Pt Elliott way so could be travelling a bit but wish him well wherever he plays
