Reeves hasnt had a kick this year, not sure why, he is a top player just down on form at the moment.

Billy Baxter is a weapon and is a nut with his work ethic, but is he not in South Adelaides senior squad this year? Would that be a reason why he was not selected? Im not sure on their selection policy but some big names were not selected and it may come back to bite the SFL. From all reports the KNTFL is a fair league with some big names from Adelaide/Melbourne playing. Should be a belter. I reckon the SFL by 4 goals

How doe's Tedmanson get a game, he is a South player who has only played two games for Porties this year against Hackham and Aldinga, meant to be rewarding Southern League players for their good season. Tedmanson only did one of the trainings and still got a game, hate to be one of the blokes cut who made an effort to get to every training after being picked for their great start to the season, not some bloke on Souths list who kicked a handfull of goals against the Sharks and Hawks. I wonder If he decides to play for Porties when they play M-Ville Park

Went to watch the SFL rep game tonight, and really got sick of it by half time so I left. The team from the south east were poo! You could name a number of SFL guys who were simply doing whatever they wanted. Bachman mustnt have had a shower in weeks coz no opposition player wanted to go anywhere near him, Ramsey was clever up forward while Vick was enjoying not having close attention. King was getting plenty of it from half back through to the centre. Good to see Jimmy Sitters starting to find some form again, but sure he prefers to present from CHF.
I reckon the top teams of the SFL would have smashed that KTNZVFL (whatever theyre called) given the performance of the first half.

It finished up being 18 goals to 6.

Westies gave their award for best player from their zone (out of Flagstaff Hill and Happy Valley) to Pat Walton, South gave theirs to Ian Brown.

Jamieson named Bachmann as his best player.

Macentee kicked 5 goals and played really well at chf any come backs at that magic man

No big surprises there... The only league that can realistically challenge Southern is the Amatuers..... Southern is faster and more skillfil than all the other leagues and it will be interesting if lovelock shield came back... Southern would dominate all grades against Hills, Great Southern and River Murray

Calm down boys, next you'll be talking about joining the AFL!
The Rep side you played against had no-one in it, all the regions contracted players had the week off due to being sick of the travel etc.
I agree your league is alright but its far from the states best. Personally I'd like to see the format changed and if they dont bring back the shield then they should atleast let different associations play each other every year instead of the same ol - its not building rivalry at all which was the plan.

Not too much should be read into that result I wouldn’t think. Was going to be pretty obvious that as KNTFL is a country league, all their best players would be on some decent coin and were not going to risk injury in pretty much a meaningless game. From the players I heard were missing from the country league most of them would have played in plenty of bigger games then this so I am sure they weren’t too devastated on missing out on this experience. Also in my opinion the SFL team were missing probably 6 out of the best 10 players in their competition.

Was there much of a crowd there??

You're right swooper not much can be read into it, but we can only compare our 22 representatives to the other leagues 22 representatives that are put on the park. We say we had a few guns out (Pollard, McKeough etc) with a few guys not considered (Prescott etc), they reckon they had the guys on the big bucks who said they wouldnt travel coz they played in bigger matches. Stuff the excuses, judge the league on the 22 who don the jumper.

On this interleague comp, should some universal selection criteria be made. With most guys over 25 electing to rest the bodies, maybe U23 or even U25 is an option. Any player played SANFL, WAFL, VFL league standard can not play, anyone on an AFL list can not play, anyone played SANFL reserves & U19 in that year also not selected. This might make the teams a little weaker but consistency of selection and squad make ups would give the competition some creditibility and develop the younger grop of players. As an 22 year old, the representative selection would be treated as more of a honour ... well I would like to think so.

ive heard from a very good source back home that the kntfl coach said that he didnt think much of the standard of sfl & thought the lights at the valley were ordinary & that if he had a full available squad, wouldve had sfl on toast!!!!!!!!

I would like to see us play the amateurs. Maybe against the best of A2. Would also give some sort of indication where the SFL actually sits as a league. The top 3 clubs I believe would think of themselves as A1 standard. By playing against an amateur side it would a least provide some sort of indication if this is the case. Also I reckon there would be a bit more feeling in the game as the rivalry would be greater as would the interest.
