After reading the results through all grades I am not sure about this report in the media.

Future directions want to change junior grades. Not sure how this will improve the SFL.. SAAFL now have 18's if we move to 17's how many kids will cross leagues?

FDC were established so the SFL could consider 2 divisions that is what is reflected overall today. A few positives but a damm lot more negatives.

Heard cove easy. Still no scores though.

Flaggies/Flies was pretty even with Flaggies having as much of the ball as the Flies but unable to finish as well

Must admit though a little worried about Aldinga's start to the season. Were competitive in a couple of early games last season even notched 2 wins in first 6 games but 150 plus loss to Hackham in round 1 and large list of outs with some of those the 'better' players from last year. Nobody likes to see a team getting smashed each week.

The 56 plus goal loss could happen this week against Morphett Vale at Morphett Vale. It also appears a number of lads doubled up from the B-grade and at least 3 lads backed up after under 18's. Were they missing some players because this will be hard to maintain all year? Really feel for these lads going to be long season. Also round 7 against Happy Valley could be a record score for the SFL.

On a positive note Aldinga under 16's won easily, so some light at the end of the tunnel lets hope these kids don't get thrown to wolves too early.

What is the answer fisho? How can they attract quality players?

3 potentially close games IMO but time will tell. Agree with previous post that BDOS and Roos will be game of the round. Also think Shoes vs Hawks will be a good game to watch. Keen to see how the Hawks have progressed from an improived season last year.

I've said for some time now that the fundamental approach is to get the local community behind us. Almost no local players involved at a senior level - why is that? This needs to be addressed first and foremost.

By the way, my outburst on Saturday night was directed at the players and not at the coach. I apologise to Shane if it sounded otherwise. I was angry because over the past three years I've heard various players' excuses for not turning up on a Saturday, including 'hangover', 'sore foot', 'shopping for a TV' and 'girlfriend's birthday'. Maybe that's not restricted to Aldinga - maybe that's a common occurrence at clubs these days, but it's disappointing regardless.
