As long as its all in jest. ala 'Big nosed Franky" and "The stinky Gringo" then thats what makes checking the forum enjoyable. As long as every 4 or 5 post you write something intelligent then noone can complain (Franky ONLY JUST qualifies for this). Not sure where I said he was from lonsdale merely stating the facts and also whats this about Morphies you've got to be kidding the only reason I had a go at Dogs when he was bagging Morphies is cause out of the two I'd rather side with the Emus at least they are actually a decent team not pretending to be one, arrogant yes but who can argue when they keep winning? As for everyone blowing smoke up Lonsdale's ass im sure their season will come crashing down soon enough but i'll be the first to congratulate you when they go out first week of finals!

Well Franky I would have to totally disagree with you....what a surprise.
Almost every other club in the league has a mascot that is somehow either original or tied in with the clubs history.

Correct me if any of these are wrong but for example.
Noarlunga ---- the horse shoe shaped river around the oval.
Morphies ----- certainly original. Could also tie into a nearby road behind the club (EMU Lane)
Reynella ---- Original. Surely has some history behind it (A few wineries in the area)...why else.
Porties ----- Although in favor of your argument ... is the most stupid mascot ive ever heard of.

I think you get my drift.

Then theres The Brighton Bombers. how original. Essendon in the AFL are the bombers and Brighton starts with B. AHHHH lets call ourselves the Bombers.

It would be interesting for people from different clubs to clear up why they have their mascots. Well except Brighton Franky. theres nothing interesting about The Bombers.

Forget the originallity and history aspect - you would have to agree that the names are deplorable.....Shoes / Wineflies / Cockle Divers - my lord.....Just looking out for the little kids - surely we need to give them a team they can be proud of and say there names out load......For example:- I play for the BOMBERS....or I play for the Shoes.....what you play in shoes ????

At least youre not on here to drag down the lower clubs and i think some of the top teams wish it was a 4 team comp but how much fun would that be ??

Even if they split the comp to say
div 1 = eight teams
and div 2 = 6 teams it would still be lopsided when 1 played 8 and 9 played 14??

so whats the answer ??

Bit confused there franky. where did the "punch below the belt" come from. It was a backhanded complement to you and our illigal immagrant. when you two were going hammer and tongs it made for entertaining reading.

and on the mascot thing. Id rather be yelling out GO THE "Insert deplorable mascot name here" cause at least people no theres only one team with that name (if more than one than not too many, couldnt see there being more than one cockle diver in Australia) Surely thats better than being a bombers supporter.....which bombers do you support theres probably 5000 footy teams in Australia with the same name.

Was meant more to demean sweeny was just using a club coulda been hackham coulda been morphie parks no matter what club hes from there probably a bunch of guys that put up with him more than like him I know round our club theres a few that if it wasn't for the fact your at the same club you'd have nothing to do with them
