It is hard with a successful club like Willunga up the hill, and the high school, we obviously haven't done things right previously but we can only try to move forward.
Most committee members (senior club) dont have primary school age kids, mine is only 3 (2nd due next month) so we aren't involved at the school yet, that may also be a factor, the Pres, VP/Treas, Footy ops all have older kids also.

My beef isnt that at all. My 2 cents worth is that with all the development going on down here, that someone should be physically out there promoting the club (thats what i was offering) and i mean who knows not only get some kids involved maybe might find some A and B graders out there? Ive been in the area for quite sometime now, yes im an outsider coming in, and i love my football. I have never heard anything from or about the club, geez even a flyer in the mail box asking if anyone is interested in playing, or helping?

Mate till stuff like that happens Aldinga will never get off the bottom of the table.

Agreed.

Mikey either re-offer to help the Sharks or STFU.

Makes no difference to me, i really just wanted to help the club, the fact is the offer was there, they didnt want it, nothing more nothing else no hidden agenda. Hey maybe it mite be sour grapes but mate, this is a forum, some people dont always like wot they hear, or should i say read. Im over it dude im just expressing my view.
I just thought u dudes might like to know why the club not really getting anywhere or winning any more games. Hey id like to see the club back at the top, but as i say what are they doing about it?
Dude can u tell me how your club is being promoted, wot are u doing to lure people to play down there? Ive been living there a few years now and if i didnt drive past the oval, i wouldnt know Aldinga had a footy team.
Big deal under 14s were in a final, at the end of the day its the senior list and what they do that matters, and its the same as any footy club, how many more years are the sponsors, the players, spectators (The paying public) going to put up with finishing last or getting flogged by 20 goals every week?
Dude chill out... I dont need u to tell me to STFU. Maybe if u calmed down took a bit of notice u mite get some good ideas about how to improve. This is a forum, if u dont like what u read....dont read it, simple

I agree too, open to fresh ideas/constructive criticism, not my preference to be on the committee as I'm still playing and have a busy family life but willing to try and help. Ideally would like past players/parents of players etc but not a lot volunteering.
About to head off to the U18 training and we have a meet the new players/coaches night Wed 17 Nov 09 so food for thought.

2009 we saw improved sponsorship, membership but we also cut our player payments drastically so lost 15 or so starting A grade players and obviously the results showed. We however paid off a huge amount of 'old debt' and paid all expenses for 2009 as they arrived. We have a good foundation off the field and will be increasing our sponsorship 'sub-committee from 1 to 3 people (although all should help), the club is ticking along nicely financially and we have fully audited books for the first time in years.

We do have a relatively 'raw' committee who would appreciate feedback I'm sure, whatever helps.

Ha, ha you mean he doesn't do one??? What about the long days in the field and lengthy batting stints out in the middle in the hot sun?? Dare say it might be harder than some of the preseason footy sessions at the Sharks judging by results in recent years ;) ;)

Just to let some past players etc know U16 coach 2010 is Andy Ricketts (Aldinga Hotel), very keen and looking forward to coaching the young blokes, Great news as far as we are concerned to have a past player such as Andy on board.

Question - Does Aldinga field an auskick/under-8s side at present? Thinking of getting the youngun involved. He keeps saying he wants to be a little Shark!

Hopefully some Sharks on here will know more. I have been talking with the new Bridgewater coach and he says he has not tried to get any players from you guys up there, I thought why not get an honest answer from some of the people at the club not back handed rumours. Any comments?

I hear your coach is pretty active in recruiting but have also heard you may have lost a few guys already before the season even starts? (not particularly to Bridgy) any truth to this? Any new or old in or out recently at Aldinga we should know about as I hear the foundations may be slipping.

I heard a ruckman from you guys went to the raiders for a few hundred when he was mostly a B Grader anyway?

The reason I ask is I am a Hills man and people think Bridgewater will improve but I said (no offense) how would they improve if they are pinching players from a bottom side in southern? Sorry but being honest. Hey he may not even have any that's why I'm asking.

If you don't want to answer fine I just thought some honesty on the subjects would be nice for a change.

Have heard nothing to the effect that the Bridgewater coach has approached players from Aldinga. He might have a couple signed up at Bridgewater that played for Aldinga when he was coach there, but that's going back to 2008. You're not mixing Aldinga up with Morphettville Park? A couple of Morphies players are going to Bridgewater this year.
