Rumours @ Bice saturday on applicants for the Christies job:

Porter, Shane Mitchell and the big surprise Reavill (im assuming Dan) as player coach??? He'd only be about 25 so im not sure if that rumour is close to the mark or not...

Have just been told Matt Reavill is the player coach rumoured not Dan ..... if true wonder why he would apply for the Christies job and not Cove.

I know of a former SANFL League player, Country premiership coach that is very highly regarded and is moving to Adelaide next year. Would be a very good acquisition for any club. Really knows his stuff with game plans and the year we won the flag we may not have even had the best side, his coaching was instrumental in that result.

He would like to know what the average going rate is in the SFL.

Cheers

Thanks for the compliments WCP. My question about going rate is not cause its about money, but all advertisements for coaching jobs ask for expected remuneration.

Extremely hard to saywhat other clubs pay coaches, i would estimate the following -

Higher than $12k - Reynella, Happy Valley, Noarlunga, Brighton, Marion, Morphy Park
Less than $12k - Aldinga, Cove, Port Noarlunga, Flagstaff Hill, E/Town, Lonsdale, Hackham, Morphett Vale, Christies Beach

Snappa - I think you are doing the clubs of the SFL a huge dis-service by suggesting those are the going rates. I think you are way over the odds and quite convenient that you put your club in the lower bracket and then assume that other clubs are in the higher bracket.

Remember: ugg boots, blue wife beater singlet, flannelette shirt and a can of Woody are more expensive than Haviana thongs, Cotton-On tank top, a Jay-Jays printed tee and a Skinny Latte.

I believe Snappa was factoring in food and drink perks which has pushed Brighton into the upper echelon ;)

If you are speaking of your club then fair enough, as i will be honest with you i did seriously consider what your club would pay a bit more than the others but went the "upper echelon" due to fiscal/demographic reasons, it would not surprise me if you were paying considerably less. But when you say dis-service about the other sides i mentioned you can't seriously think that the other clubs mentioned aren't paying more than the figure mentioned.
